ויהי אחרי הדברים האלה ויאמר ליוסף הנה אביך חלה ויקח את שני בניו עמו את מנשה ואת אפרים
Ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Ιωσηφ ὅτι Ὁ πατήρ σου ἐνοχλεῖται. καὶ ἀναλαβὼν τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ, τὸν Μανασση καὶ τὸν Εφραιμ, ἦλθεν πρὸς Ιακωβ.
And it came to pass, after these things, that ⓘ to Iosèf: «Behold, your father is ⓘ». And he took ⓘ his two sons, Menasshè and Efràim.

ויגד ליעקב ויאמר הנה בנך יוסף בא אליך ויתחזק ישראל וישב על המטה
ἀπηγγέλη δὲ τῷ Ιακωβ λέγοντες Ἰδοὺ ὁ υἱός σου Ιωσηφ ἔρχεται πρὸς σέ. καὶ ἐνισχύσας Ισραηλ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην.
And it was announced to Yaaqòv: «Behold, your son Iosèf is coming to you». And ⓘ Israèl and sat up on the bed.

ויאמר יעקב אל יוסף אל שדי נראה אלי בלוז בארץ כנען ויברך אתי
καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ τῷ Ιωσηφ Ὁ θεός μου ὤφθη μοι ἐν Λουζα ἐν γῇ Χανααν καὶ εὐλόγησέν με
And Yaaqòv said to Iosèf: «ⓘ appeared to me at ⓘ in the land of Kenàʿan and blessed me,

ויאמר אלי הנני מפרך והרביתך ונתתיך לקהל עמים ונתתי את הארץ הזאת לזרעך אחריך אחזת עולם
καὶ εἶπέν μοι Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ αὐξανῶ σε καὶ πληθυνῶ σε καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς συναγωγὰς ἐθνῶν καὶ δώσω σοι τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον.
and said to me: Behold, I make you fruitful and multiply you and make you ⓘ and will give this land to your seed after you as a perpetual possession.

ועתה שני בניך הנולדים לך בארץ מצרים עד באי אליך מצרימה לי הם אפרים ומנשה כראובן ושמעון יהיו לי
νῦν οὖν οἱ δύο υἱοί σου οἱ γενόμενοί σοι ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ πρὸ τοῦ με ἐλθεῖν πρὸς σὲ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐμοί εἰσιν, Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση ὡς Ρουβην καὶ Συμεων ἔσονταί μοι·
And now, your two sons ⓘ before I came to you in Mitzràyim, are mine: ⓘ.

ומולדתך אשר הולדת אחריהם לך יהיו על שם אחיהם יקראו בנחלתם
τὰ δὲ ἔκγονα, ἃ ἐὰν γεννήσῃς μετὰ ταῦτα, σοὶ ἔσονται, ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν κληθήσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐκείνων κλήροις.
And your ⓘ whom you will beget after them shall be yours: by the name of their brothers they shall be called in their inheritance.

ואני בבאי מפדן מתה עלי רחל בארץ כנען בדרך בעוד כברת ארץ לבא אפרתה ואקברה שם בדרך אפרת הוא בית לחם
ἐγὼ δὲ ἡνίκα ἠρχόμην ἐκ Μεσοποταμίας τῆς Συρίας, ἀπέθανεν Ραχηλ ἡ μήτηρ σου ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἐγγίζοντός μου κατὰ τὸν ἱππόδρομον χαβραθα τῆς γῆς τοῦ ἐλθεῖν Εφραθα, καὶ κατώρυξα αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ ἱπποδρόμου [αὕτη ἐστὶν Βαιθλεεμ]. –
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And I, when I was coming ⓘ, Rachèl died on me, ⓘ in the land of Kenàʿan, as I was drawing near ⓘ of the land to reach Efràta, and I buried her on the road of the hippodrome — this is Bethlehem.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And I, at my ⓘ, Rachèl died on me in the land of Kenàʿan, along the way, ⓘ to reach Efràta, and I buried her there on the road of Efràta — which is Bet-Lèchem.

וירא ישראל את בני יוסף ויאמר מי אלה
ἰδὼν δὲ Ισραηλ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ιωσηφ εἶπεν Τίνες σοι οὗτοι;
And Israèl saw the sons of Iosèf and said: «ⓘ».
9
ויאמר יוסף אל אביו בני הם אשר נתן לי אלהים בזה ויאמר קחם נא אלי ואברכם
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ Υἱοί μού εἰσιν, οὓς ἔδωκέν μοι ὁ θεὸς ἐνταῦθα. καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ Προσάγαγέ μοι αὐτούς, ἵνα εὐλογήσω αὐτούς.
And Iosèf said to his father: «They are my sons, whom ⓘ has given me here». And he said: «Take them, I pray you, beside me, and I will bless them».

ועיני ישראל כבדו מזקן לא יוכל לראות ויגש אתם אליו וישק להם ויחבק להם
οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ Ισραηλ ἐβαρυώπησαν ἀπὸ τοῦ γήρους, καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο βλέπειν· καὶ ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ ἐφίλησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ περιέλαβεν αὐτούς.
And the ⓘ of Israèl were ⓘ, he could not see; and he brought them near to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.

ויאמר ישראל אל יוסף ראה פניך לא פללתי והנה הראה אתי אלהים גם את זרעך
καὶ εἶπεν Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσηφ Ἰδοὺ τοῦ προσώπου σου οὐκ ἐστερήθην, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔδειξέν μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου.
And Israèl said to Iosèf: «ⓘ, and behold, ⓘ has let me see your seed also».

ויוצא יוסף אתם מעם ברכיו וישתחו לאפיו ארצה
καὶ ἐξήγαγεν Ιωσηφ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν γονάτων αὐτοῦ, καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
And Iosèf withdrew them from his knees, and ⓘ with his face to the ground.

ויקח יוסף את שניהם את אפרים בימינו משמאל ישראל ואת מנשה בשמאלו מימין ישראל ויגש אליו
λαβὼν δὲ Ιωσηφ τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ, τόν τε Εφραιμ ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν δὲ Ισραηλ, τὸν δὲ Μανασση ἐν τῇ ἀριστερᾷ ἐκ δεξιῶν δὲ Ισραηλ, ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς αὐτῷ.
And Iosèf took the two, Efràim at his right — at Israèl's left — and Menasshè at his left — at Israèl's right, and he brought them near to him.

וישלח ישראל את ימינו וישת על ראש אפרים והוא הצעיר ואת שמאלו על ראש מנשה שכל את ידיו כי מנשה הבכור
ἐκτείνας δὲ Ισραηλ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν δεξιὰν ἐπέβαλεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Εφραιμ – οὗτος δὲ ἦν ὁ νεώτερος – καὶ τὴν ἀριστερὰν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Μανασση, ἐναλλὰξ τὰς χεῖρας.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Israèl having stretched out his right hand, he laid it on the head of Efràim — and he was the younger — and the left on the head of Menasshè, ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And Israèl stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Efràim — and he was the younger — and his left on the head of Menasshè: ⓘ, although Menasshè was the firstborn.

ויברך את יוסף ויאמר האלהים אשר התהלכו אבתי לפניו אברהם ויצחק האלהים הרעה אתי מעודי עד היום הזה
καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἶπεν Ὁ θεός, ᾧ εὐηρέστησαν οἱ πατέρες μου ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ, ὁ θεὸς ὁ τρέφων με ἐκ νεότητος ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης,
And ⓘ and said: «ⓘ my fathers Avrahàm and Yitzchàq, ⓘ ⓘ until this day,

המלאך הגאל אתי מכל רע יברך את הנערים ויקרא בהם שמי ושם אבתי אברהם ויצחק וידגו לרב בקרב הארץ
ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ ῥυόμενός με ἐκ πάντων τῶν κακῶν εὐλογήσαι τὰ παιδία ταῦτα, καὶ ἐπικληθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸ ὄνομά μου καὶ τὸ ὄνομα τῶν πατέρων μου Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ, καὶ πληθυνθείησαν εἰς πλῆθος πολὺ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
ⓘ from every evil, may he bless the children, and may my name be invoked upon them and the name of my fathers Avrahàm and Yitzchàq, and ⓘ in the midst of the land».

וירא יוסף כי ישית אביו יד ימינו על ראש אפרים וירע בעיניו ויתמך יד אביו להסיר אתה מעל ראש אפרים על ראש מנשה
ἰδὼν δὲ Ιωσηφ ὅτι ἐπέβαλεν ὁ πατὴρ τὴν δεξιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Εφραιμ, βαρὺ αὐτῷ κατεφάνη, καὶ ἀντελάβετο Ιωσηφ τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἀφελεῖν αὐτὴν ἀπὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς Εφραιμ ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Μανασση.
And Iosèf saw that his father was laying his right hand on the head of Efràim, and ⓘ, and he held up his father's hand to move it from the head of Efràim to the head of Menasshè.

ויאמר יוסף אל אביו לא כן אבי כי זה הבכר שים ימינך על ראשו
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ Οὐχ οὕτως, πάτερ· οὗτος γὰρ ὁ πρωτότοκος· ἐπίθες τὴν δεξιάν σου ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ.
And Iosèf said to his father: «Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn: lay your right hand on his head».

וימאן אביו ויאמר ידעתי בני ידעתי גם הוא יהיה לעם וגם הוא יגדל ואולם אחיו הקטן יגדל ממנו וזרעו יהיה מלא הגוים
καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν, ἀλλὰ εἶπεν Οἶδα, τέκνον, οἶδα· καὶ οὗτος ἔσται εἰς λαόν, καὶ οὗτος ὑψωθήσεται, ἀλλὰ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ νεώτερος μείζων αὐτοῦ ἔσται, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἔσται εἰς πλῆθος ἐθνῶν.
And his father refused and said: «ⓘ; he too shall be a people and he too shall be great; but his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall be ⓘ».

ויברכם ביום ההוא לאמור בך יברך ישראל לאמר ישמך אלהים כאפרים וכמנשה וישם את אפרים לפני מנשה
καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ λέγων Ἐν ὑμῖν εὐλογηθήσεται Ισραηλ λέγοντες Ποιήσαι σε ὁ θεὸς ὡς Εφραιμ καὶ ὡς Μανασση· καὶ ἔθηκεν τὸν Εφραιμ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ Μανασση. –
And he blessed them on that day, saying: «ⓘ, saying: May ⓘ make you like Efràim and like Menasshè»; and he set Efràim before Menasshè.

ויאמר ישראל אל יוסף הנה אנכי מת והיה אלהים עמכם והשיב אתכם אל ארץ אבתיכם
εἶπεν δὲ Ισραηλ τῷ Ιωσηφ Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποθνῄσκω, καὶ ἔσται ὁ θεὸς μεθ’ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀποστρέψει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν·
And Israèl said to Iosèf: «Behold, ⓘ; and ⓘ shall be with you, and will bring you back to the land of your fathers.
22
ואני נתתי לך שכם אחד על אחיך אשר לקחתי מיד האמרי בחרבי ובקשתי
ἐγὼ δὲ δίδωμί σοι Σικιμα ἐξαίρετον ὑπὲρ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου, ἣν ἔλαβον ἐκ χειρὸς Αμορραίων ἐν μαχαίρᾳ μου καὶ τόξῳ.
And I have given to you ⓘ ⓘ above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Emorèo with ⓘ».
