ולא יכל יוסף להתאפק לכל הנצבים עליו ויקרא הוציאו כל איש מעלי ולא עמד איש אתו בהתודע יוסף אל אחיו
Καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο Ιωσηφ ἀνέχεσθαι πάντων τῶν παρεστηκότων αὐτῷ, ἀλλ’ εἶπεν Ἐξαποστείλατε πάντας ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ. καὶ οὐ παρειστήκει οὐδεὶς ἔτι τῷ Ιωσηφ, ἡνίκα ἀνεγνωρίζετο τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ.
And Yosèf could no longer restrain himselfⓘ before all those who stood around him; and he said: «Send every man out from meⓘ». And no one remainedⓘ with him when Yosèf made himself knownⓘ to his brothers.

ויתן את קלו בבכי וישמעו מצרים וישמע בית פרעה
καὶ ἀφῆκεν φωνὴν μετὰ κλαυθμοῦ· ἤκουσαν δὲ πάντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι, καὶ ἀκουστὸν ἐγένετο εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραω.
And he gave his voice in weepingⓘ; and all the Egyptiansⓘ heard, and it was heard in the house of Par'òh.

ויאמר יוסף אל אחיו אני יוסף העוד אבי חי ולא יכלו אחיו לענות אתו כי נבהלו מפניו
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ Ἐγώ εἰμι Ιωσηφ· ἔτι ὁ πατήρ μου ζῇ; καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἀποκριθῆναι αὐτῷ· ἐταράχθησαν γάρ.
And Yosèf said to his brothers: «I am Yosèf!ⓘ Is my father still alive?». But his brothers could not answer him, for they were terrifiedⓘ.

ויאמר יוסף אל אחיו גשו נא אלי ויגשו ויאמר אני יוסף אחיכם אשר מכרתם אתי מצרימה
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ Ἐγγίσατε πρός με. καὶ ἤγγισαν. καὶ εἶπεν Ἐγώ εἰμι Ιωσηφ ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν, ὃν ἀπέδοσθε εἰς Αἴγυπτον.
And Yosèf said to his brothers: «Come near to me, I pray you». And they came near. And he said: «I am Yosèf your brotherⓘ, whom you soldⓘ into Egypt.

ועתה אל תעצבו ואל יחר בעיניכם כי מכרתם אתי הנה כי למחיה שלחני אלהים לפניכם
νῦν οὖν μὴ λυπεῖσθε μηδὲ σκληρὸν ὑμῖν φανήτω ὅτι ἀπέδοσθέ με ὧδε· εἰς γὰρ ζωὴν ἀπέστειλέν με ὁ θεὸς ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν·
And now do not be grieved, and let it not burn in your eyesⓘ that you sold me here, for to preserve lifeⓘ God (Elohìm) has sent me before you.

כי זה שנתים הרעב בקרב הארץ ועוד חמש שנים אשר אין חריש וקציר
τοῦτο γὰρ δεύτερον ἔτος λιμὸς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ ἔτι λοιπὰ πέντε ἔτη, ἐν οἷς οὐκ ἔσται ἀροτρίασις οὐδὲ ἄμητος·
For these two yearsⓘ the famine has been in the heart of the land, and there are yet five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvestⓘ.

וישלחני אלהים לפניכם לשום לכם שארית בארץ ולהחיות לכם לפליטה גדלה
ἀπέστειλεν γάρ με ὁ θεὸς ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν, ὑπολείπεσθαι ὑμῶν κατάλειμμα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκθρέψαι ὑμῶν κατάλειψιν μεγάλην.
And God (Elohìm) sent me before you to set for you a remnantⓘ on the earth, and to keep you alive as a great deliveranceⓘ.

ועתה לא אתם שלחתם אתי הנה כי האלהים וישימני לאב לפרעה ולאדון לכל ביתו ומשל בכל ארץ מצרים
νῦν οὖν οὐχ ὑμεῖς με ἀπεστάλκατε ὧδε, ἀλλ’ ἢ ὁ θεός, καὶ ἐποίησέν με ὡς πατέρα Φαραω καὶ κύριον παντὸς τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄρχοντα πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου.
And now it was not you who sent me here, but Godⓘ; and he has set me as a father to Par'òhⓘ, and as lordⓘ over all his house, and rulerⓘ in all the land of Egypt.

מהרו ועלו אל אבי ואמרתם אליו כה אמר בנך יוסף שמני אלהים לאדון לכל מצרים רדה אלי אל תעמד
σπεύσαντες οὖν ἀνάβητε πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου καὶ εἴπατε αὐτῷ Τάδε λέγει ὁ υἱός σου Ιωσηφ Ἐποίησέν με ὁ θεὸς κύριον πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου· κατάβηθι οὖν πρός με καὶ μὴ μείνῃς·
Hasten, go up to my father and say to him: Thus says your son Yosèf: God (Elohìm) has set me lordⓘ of all Egypt; come downⓘ to me, do not tarry.

וישבת בארץ גשן והיית קרוב אלי אתה ובניך ובני בניך וצאנך ובקרך וכל אשר לך
καὶ κατοικήσεις ἐν γῇ Γεσεμ Ἀραβίας καὶ ἔσῃ ἐγγύς μου, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν υἱῶν σου, τὰ πρόβατά σου καὶ αἱ βόες σου καὶ ὅσα σοί ἐστιν,
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And you shall dwell in the land of Gèsem of Arabiaⓘ and you shall be near to meⓘ, you and your sons and your sons' sons, your flock and your herd and all that is yours,—— Masoretic (MT) ——And you shall dwell in the land of Gòshen of Arabiaⓘ and you shall be near to me, you and your sons and your sons' sons, your flock and your herd and all that is yours.

וכלכלתי אתך שם כי עוד חמש שנים רעב פן תורש אתה וביתך וכל אשר לך
καὶ ἐκθρέψω σε ἐκεῖ – ἔτι γὰρ πέντε ἔτη λιμός – , ἵνα μὴ ἐκτριβῇς, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντά σου.
And I will sustainⓘ you there — for there are yet five years of famine —, so that you do not fall into povertyⓘ, you and your houseⓘ and all that is yours.

והנה עיניכם ראות ועיני אחי בנימין כי פי המדבר אליכם
ἰδοὺ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν βλέπουσιν καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ Βενιαμιν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ μου ὅτι τὸ στόμα μου τὸ λαλοῦν πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
And behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Binyamìn, that it is my mouthⓘ that speaks to you.

והגדתם לאבי את כל כבודי במצרים ואת כל אשר ראיתם ומהרתם והורדתם את אבי הנה
ἀπαγγείλατε οὖν τῷ πατρί μου πᾶσαν τὴν δόξαν μου τὴν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ὅσα εἴδετε, καὶ ταχύναντες καταγάγετε τὸν πατέρα μου ὧδε.
And tell my father all my gloryⓘ in Egypt and all that you have seen; and hasten to bring my father down here.

ויפל על צוארי בנימן אחיו ויבך ובנימן בכה על צואריו
καὶ ἐπιπεσὼν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον Βενιαμιν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ αὐτῷ, καὶ Βενιαμιν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπὶ τῷ τραχήλῳ αὐτοῦ.
And he fell upon the neckⓘ of Binyamìn his brother and wept upon him, and Binyamìn wept upon his neck.

וינשק לכל אחיו ויבך עליהם ואחרי כן דברו אחיו אתו
καὶ καταφιλήσας πάντας τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐλάλησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτόν.
And he kissed all his brothers and wept over them; and after that his brothers spoke with him.

והקל נשמע בית פרעה לאמר באו אחי יוסף וייטב בעיני פרעה ובעיני עבדיו
Καὶ διεβοήθη ἡ φωνὴ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραω λέγοντες Ἥκασιν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Ιωσηφ. ἐχάρη δὲ Φαραω καὶ ἡ θεραπεία αὐτοῦ.
And the report spreadⓘ in the house of Par'òh, saying: «Yosèf's brothers have come!». And it was good in the eyes of Par'òh and in the eyes of his servantsⓘ.

ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף אמר אל אחיך זאת עשו טענו את בעירכם ולכו באו ארצה כנען
εἶπεν δὲ Φαραω πρὸς Ιωσηφ Εἰπὸν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς σου Τοῦτο ποιήσατε· γεμίσατε τὰ πορεῖα ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέλθατε εἰς γῆν Χανααν
And Par'òh said to Yosèf: «Say to your brothers: This do: load your pack animalsⓘ and go, enter the land of Kena'àn,

וקחו את אביכם ואת בתיכם ובאו אלי ואתנה לכם את טוב ארץ מצרים ואכלו את חלב הארץ
καὶ παραλαβόντες τὸν πατέρα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα ὑμῶν ἥκετε πρός με, καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν πάντων τῶν ἀγαθῶν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ φάγεσθε τὸν μυελὸν τῆς γῆς.
and take your father and your householdsⓘ and come to me; and I will give you the best of all the goodⓘ of Egypt, and you shall eat the fatⓘ of the land.

ואתה צויתה זאת עשו קחו לכם מארץ מצרים עגלות לטפכם ולנשיכם ונשאתם את אביכם ובאתם
σὺ δὲ ἔντειλαι ταῦτα, λαβεῖν αὐτοῖς ἁμάξας ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τοῖς παιδίοις ὑμῶν καὶ ταῖς γυναιξίν, καὶ ἀναλαβόντες τὸν πατέρα ὑμῶν παραγίνεσθε·
And you are commanded: This do: take for yourselves from the land of Egypt wagonsⓘ for your little ones and for your women, and load your father and come.
20
ועינכם אל תחס על כליכם כי טוב כל ארץ מצרים לכם הוא
καὶ μὴ φείσησθε τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς τῶν σκευῶν ὑμῶν, τὰ γὰρ πάντα ἀγαθὰ Αἰγύπτου ὑμῖν ἔσται.
And let your eye not spareⓘ your implementsⓘ, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
21
ויעשו כן בני ישראל ויתן להם יוסף עגלות על פי פרעה ויתן להם צדה לדרך
ἐποίησαν δὲ οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ· ἔδωκεν δὲ Ιωσηφ αὐτοῖς ἁμάξας κατὰ τὰ εἰρημένα ὑπὸ Φαραω τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἐπισιτισμὸν εἰς τὴν ὁδόν,
And so the sons of Yisra'èl did. And Yosèf gave them wagons according to the mouth of Par'òhⓘ, of king Par'òhⓘ, and he gave them provisions (tzedàh)ⓘ for the way.

לכלם נתן לאיש חלפות שמלת ולבנימן נתן שלש מאות כסף וחמש חלפת שמלת
καὶ πᾶσιν ἔδωκεν δισσὰς στολάς, τῷ δὲ Βενιαμιν ἔδωκεν τριακοσίους χρυσοῦς καὶ πέντε ἐξαλλασσούσας στολάς,
To all of them he gave to each one changes of garmentsⓘ, but to Binyamìn he gave three hundred of silverⓘ and five changes of garments.

ולאביו שלח כזאת עשרה חמרים נשאים מטוב מצרים ועשר אתנת נשאת בר ולחם ומזון לאביו לדרך
καὶ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπέστειλεν κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ καὶ δέκα ὄνους αἴροντας ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἀγαθῶν Αἰγύπτου καὶ δέκα ἡμιόνους αἰρούσας ἄρτους τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς ὁδόν.
And to his father he sent thus: ten donkeys carrying the best of Egypt, and ten she-donkeysⓘ carrying grain (bar) and bread and nourishment (mazòn) for his father, for the way.
24
וישלח את אחיו וילכו ויאמר אלהם אל תרגזו בדרך
ἐξαπέστειλεν δὲ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν· καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Μὴ ὀργίζεσθε ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ.
And he sent off his brothers, and they went; and he said to them: «Do not be agitatedⓘ on the way».
25
ויעלו ממצרים ויבאו ארץ כנען אל יעקב אביהם
Καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἦλθον εἰς γῆν Χανααν πρὸς Ιακωβ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν
And they went up out of Egypt and came to the land of Kena'àn, to Ya'aqòv their father.

ויגדו לו לאמר עוד יוסף חי וכי הוא משל בכל ארץ מצרים ויפג לבו כי לא האמין להם
καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες ὅτι Ὁ υἱός σου Ιωσηφ ζῇ, καὶ αὐτὸς ἄρχει πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου. καὶ ἐξέστη ἡ διάνοια Ιακωβ· οὐ γὰρ ἐπίστευσεν αὐτοῖς.
And they told him, saying: «Yosèf is still alive, and it is he who rules (moshèl) over all the land of Egypt». And his heart grew numbⓘ, for he did not believe them.

וידברו אליו את כל דברי יוסף אשר דבר אלהם וירא את העגלות אשר שלח יוסף לשאת אתו ותחי רוח יעקב אביהם
ἐλάλησαν δὲ αὐτῷ πάντα τὰ ῥηθέντα ὑπὸ Ιωσηφ, ὅσα εἶπεν αὐτοῖς. ἰδὼν δὲ τὰς ἁμάξας, ἃς ἀπέστειλεν Ιωσηφ ὥστε ἀναλαβεῖν αὐτόν, ἀνεζωπύρησεν τὸ πνεῦμα Ιακωβ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν.
And they spoke to him all the words of Yosèf that he had said to them; and he saw the wagons that Yosèf had sent to carry him, and the spirit revivedⓘ of Ya'aqòv their father.
28
ויאמר ישראל רב עוד יוסף בני חי אלכה ואראנו בטרם אמות
εἶπεν δὲ Ισραηλ Μέγα μοί ἐστιν, εἰ ἔτι Ιωσηφ ὁ υἱός μου ζῇ· πορευθεὶς ὄψομαι αὐτὸν πρὸ τοῦ ἀποθανεῖν με.
And Yisra'èl said: «Greatⓘ is the matter! Yosèf my son is still alive! I will go and see himⓘ before I die».
