ויהי בימי אמרפל מלך שנער אריוך מלך אלסר כדרלעמר מלך עילם ותדעל מלך גוים
Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῇ Αμαρφαλ βασιλέως Σεννααρ, Αριωχ βασιλεὺς Ελλασαρ καὶ Χοδολλογομορ βασιλεὺς Αιλαμ καὶ Θαργαλ βασιλεὺς ἐθνῶν
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——It came to pass then during the reign of Amarphàlⓘ, king of Sennaàr, that Ariòkh king of Ellasàr and Chodollogomòrⓘ king of Ailàm and Thargàl king of the nationsⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And it came to passⓘ in the days of Amrafèl king of Shinʿàrⓘ, Aryòkh king of Ellasàr, Kedorlaʿòmer king of ʿElàm and Tidʿàl king of Goyìmⓘ.

עשו מלחמה את ברע מלך סדם ואת ברשע מלך עמרה שנאב מלך אדמה ושמאבר מלך צביים צבויים ומלך בלע היא צער
ἐποίησαν πόλεμον μετὰ Βαλλα βασιλέως Σοδομων καὶ μετὰ Βαρσα βασιλέως Γομορρας καὶ Σεννααρ βασιλέως Αδαμα καὶ Συμοβορ βασιλέως Σεβωιμ καὶ βασιλέως Βαλακ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Σηγωρ].
They made warⓘ with Bèraʿ king of Sedòmⓘ and with Birshàʿ king of ʿAmoràhⓘ, Shinʾàv king of Admàhⓘ and Sheméver king of Tzevoyìmⓘ and the king of Bèlaʿ — which is Tzòʿarⓘ.

כל אלה חברו אל עמק השדים הוא ים המלח
πάντες οὗτοι συνεφώνησαν ἐπὶ τὴν φάραγγα τὴν ἁλυκήν [αὕτη ἡ θάλασσα τῶν ἁλῶν].
All these joined together in the valley of Siddìmⓘ — which is the Salt Seaⓘ.

שתים עשרה שנה עבדו את כדרלעמר ושלש עשרה שנה מרדו
δώδεκα ἔτη ἐδούλευον τῷ Χοδολλογομορ, τῷ δὲ τρισκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἀπέστησαν.
For twelve yearsⓘ they had served Kedorlaʿòmer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelledⓘ.

ובארבע עשרה שנה בא כדרלעמר והמלכים אשר אתו ויכו את רפאים בעשתרת קרנים ואת הזוזים בהם ואת האימים בשוה קריתים
ἐν δὲ τῷ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἦλθεν Χοδολλογομορ καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ κατέκοψαν τοὺς γίγαντας τοὺς ἐν Ασταρωθ Καρναιν καὶ ἔθνη ἰσχυρὰ ἅμα αὐτοῖς καὶ τοὺς Ομμαίους τοὺς ἐν Σαυη τῇ πόλει
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——In the fourteenth year Chodollogomòr came with the kings who were with him, and they cut the giants to piecesⓘ who were in Astaròth Karnaìn, and mighty nations together with themⓘ, and the Ommaìoi who were in Saue, the cityⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And in the fourteenth year Kedorlaʿòmer and the kings allied with him came and struck the Refaìmⓘ at Ashteròt-Qarnàyim, and the Zuzìm at Hamⓘ, and the Emìmⓘ at Shavèh-Qiryatàyimⓘ.

ואת החרי בהררם שעיר עד איל פארן אשר על המדבר
καὶ τοὺς Χορραίους τοὺς ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν Σηιρ ἕως τῆς τερεμίνθου τῆς Φαραν, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ.
And the Chorìtesⓘ on their mountains of Seʿìr as far as El-Parànⓘ which is by the desert.

וישבו ויבאו אל עין משפט הוא קדש ויכו את כל שדה העמלקי וגם את האמרי הישב בחצצן תמר
καὶ ἀναστρέψαντες ἤλθοσαν ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν τῆς κρίσεως [αὕτη ἐστὶν Καδης] καὶ κατέκοψαν πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας Αμαληκ καὶ τοὺς Αμορραίους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ασασανθαμαρ.
And they turned back and came to ʿEn-Mishpàt — which is Qadèshⓘ — and struck the whole territory of the Amaleqitesⓘ and also that of the Emorìte who dwelt in Chatzetzòn-Tamàrⓘ.

ויצא מלך סדם ומלך עמרה ומלך אדמה ומלך צביים צבוים ומלך בלע הוא צער ויערכו אתם מלחמה בעמק השדים
ἐξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομορρας καὶ βασιλεὺς Αδαμα καὶ βασιλεὺς Σεβωιμ καὶ βασιλεὺς Βαλακ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Σηγωρ] καὶ παρετάξαντο αὐτοῖς εἰς πόλεμον ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῇ ἁλυκῇ,
And the king of Sedòm and the king of ʿAmoràh and the king of Admàh and the king of Tzevoyìm and the king of Bèlaʿ went out — which is Tzòʿarⓘ — and they drew up in battle against them in the valley of Siddìmⓘ.

את כדרלעמר מלך עילם ותדעל מלך גוים ואמרפל מלך שנער ואריוך מלך אלסר ארבעה מלכים את החמשה
πρὸς Χοδολλογομορ βασιλέα Αιλαμ καὶ Θαργαλ βασιλέα ἐθνῶν καὶ Αμαρφαλ βασιλέα Σεννααρ καὶ Αριωχ βασιλέα Ελλασαρ, οἱ τέσσαρες βασιλεῖς πρὸς τοὺς πέντε.
Against Kedorlaʿòmer king of ʿElàm and Tidʿàl king of Goyìm and Amrafèl king of Shinʿàr and Aryòkh king of Ellasàr: four kings against the fiveⓘ.

ועמק השדים בארת בארת חמר וינסו מלך סדם ועמרה ויפלו שמה והנשארים הרה נסו
ἡ δὲ κοιλὰς ἡ ἁλυκὴ φρέατα φρέατα ἀσφάλτου· ἔφυγεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομορρας καὶ ἐνέπεσαν ἐκεῖ, οἱ δὲ καταλειφθέντες εἰς τὴν ὀρεινὴν ἔφυγον.
Now the valley of Siddìmⓘ was full of pits of bitumenⓘ; and when they fled, the king of Sedòm and the king of ʿAmoràh fell in thereⓘ, while the survivors fled toward the mountainⓘ.

ויקחו את כל רכש סדם ועמרה ואת כל אכלם וילכו
ἔλαβον δὲ τὴν ἵππον πᾶσαν τὴν Σοδομων καὶ Γομορρας καὶ πάντα τὰ βρώματα αὐτῶν καὶ ἀπῆλθον.
And the victors took all the goods of Sedòm and ʿAmoràhⓘ and all their provisions and went away.

ויקחו את לוט ואת רכשו בן אחי אברם וילכו והוא ישב בסדם
ἔλαβον δὲ καὶ τὸν Λωτ υἱὸν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Αβραμ καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπῴχοντο· ἦν γὰρ κατοικῶν ἐν Σοδομοις.
And they also took Lotⓘ, son of Avràm's brotherⓘ, together with his goods — since he dwelt in Sedòm — and went away.

ויבא הפליט ויגד לאברם העברי והוא שכן באלני ממרא האמרי אחי אשכל ואחי ענר והם בעלי ברית אברם
Παραγενόμενος δὲ τῶν ἀνασωθέντων τις ἀπήγγειλεν Αβραμ τῷ περάτῃ· αὐτὸς δὲ κατῴκει πρὸς τῇ δρυὶ τῇ Μαμβρη ὁ Αμορις τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Εσχωλ καὶ ἀδελφοῦ Αυναν, οἳ ἦσαν συνωμόται τοῦ Αβραμ.
And one who had escapedⓘ came and reported it to Avràm ha-ʿIvrìⓘ; and he was dwelling by the oaks of Mamrèⓘ the Emorìte, brother of Eshkòl and of ʿAnèrⓘ, and they were masters of covenantⓘ with Avràm.

וישמע אברם כי נשבה אחיו וירק את חניכיו ילידי ביתו שמנה עשר ושלש מאות וירדף עד דן
ἀκούσας δὲ Αβραμ ὅτι ᾐχμαλώτευται Λωτ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ, ἠρίθμησεν τοὺς ἰδίους οἰκογενεῖς αὐτοῦ, τριακοσίους δέκα καὶ ὀκτώ, καὶ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν ἕως Δαν.
And when Avràm heard that his brotherⓘ had been taken captive, he mustered his trained menⓘ born in his houseⓘ, numbering three hundred eighteenⓘ, and pursued the enemies as far as Danⓘ.

ויחלק עליהם לילה הוא ועבדיו ויכם וירדפם עד חובה אשר משמאל לדמשק
καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὴν νύκτα, αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐδίωξεν αὐτοὺς ἕως Χωβα, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν ἀριστερᾷ Δαμασκοῦ.
And he divided his forces against them during the nightⓘ, he himself and his servants, and he struck them and pursued them as far as Chovàhⓘ, to the left of Damméseq.

וישב את כל הרכש וגם את לוט אחיו ורכשו השיב וגם את הנשים ואת העם
καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν πᾶσαν τὴν ἵππον Σοδομων, καὶ Λωτ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπέστρεψεν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὸν λαόν.
And he brought back all the goodsⓘ, and he also brought back Lot his brother with his goods, and also the women and the peopleⓘ.

ויצא מלך סדם לקראתו אחרי שובו מהכות את כדרלעמר ואת המלכים אשר אתו אל עמק שוה הוא עמק המלך
Ἐξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ – μετὰ τὸ ἀναστρέψαι αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς τοῦ Χοδολλογομορ καὶ τῶν βασιλέων τῶν μετ’ αὐτοῦ – εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα τὴν Σαυη [τοῦτο ἦν τὸ πεδίον βασιλέως].
And the king of Sedòm went out to meet him — after his return from the victory over Kedorlaʿòmer and over the kings allied with him — at the valley of Shavèhⓘ — which is the King's Valleyⓘ.

ומלכי צדק מלך שלם הוציא לחם ויין והוא כהן לאל עליון
καὶ Μελχισεδεκ βασιλεὺς Σαλημ ἐξήνεγκεν ἄρτους καὶ οἶνον· ἦν δὲ ἱερεὺς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου.
And Malkitzèdeq king of Shalèmⓘ brought out bread and wineⓘ, and he was a priest consecrated to the Most High Godⓘ.

ויברכהו ויאמר ברוך אברם לאל עליון קנה שמים וארץ
καὶ ηὐλόγησεν τὸν Αβραμ καὶ εἶπεν Εὐλογημένος Αβραμ τῷ θεῷ τῷ ὑψίστῳ, ὃς ἔκτισεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν,
And he blessed him and said: «Blessed be Avràm by the Most High Godⓘ, master and creator of heaven and earthⓘ;
20
וברוך אל עליון אשר מגן צריך בידך ויתן לו מעשר מכל
καὶ εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὕψιστος, ὃς παρέδωκεν τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποχειρίους σοι. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ δεκάτην ἀπὸ πάντων.
and blessed be the Most High God, who has shielded your adversaries into your handⓘ». And Avràm gave him the tithe of everythingⓘ.

ויאמר מלך סדם אל אברם תן לי הנפש והרכש קח לך
εἶπεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων πρὸς Αβραμ Δός μοι τοὺς ἄνδρας, τὴν δὲ ἵππον λαβὲ σεαυτῷ
And the king of Sedòm said to Avràm: «Give me the soulsⓘ, and take the goods for yourself».

ויאמר אברם אל מלך סדם הרימתי ידי אל יהוה אל עליון קנה שמים וארץ
εἶπεν δὲ Αβραμ πρὸς βασιλέα Σοδομων Ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὸν ὕψιστον, ὃς ἔκτισεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν,
But Avràm said to the king of Sedòm: «I have raised my hand in solemn oathⓘ toward the Tetragrammaton, the Most High Godⓘ, master and creator of heaven and earthⓘ:

אם מחוט ועד שרוך נעל ואם אקח מכל אשר לך ולא תאמר אני העשרתי את אברם
εἰ ἀπὸ σπαρτίου ἕως σφαιρωτῆρος ὑποδήματος λήμψομαι ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν σῶν, ἵνα μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι Ἐγὼ ἐπλούτισα τὸν Αβραμ·
from a thread to a sandal-strapⓘ, I will take nothing of what is yours, so that you may not say: «I have made Avràm rich».
24
בלעדי רק אשר אכלו הנערים וחלק האנשים אשר הלכו אתי ענר אשכל וממרא הם יקחו חלקם
πλὴν ὧν ἔφαγον οἱ νεανίσκοι καὶ τῆς μερίδος τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν συμπορευθέντων μετ’ ἐμοῦ, Εσχωλ, Αυναν, Μαμβρη, οὗτοι λήμψονται μερίδα.
Nothing for me, only what the young men have already eaten and the share dueⓘ to the men who came with me — ʿAnèr, Eshkòl and Mamrèⓘ —: they shall take their share».
