Ἐβάστασαν πάλιν λίθους οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἵνα λιθάσωσιν αὐτόν.
Di nuovo i Giudei raccolsero delle pietre per lapidarlo.
The ⓘ took up stones again to stone him — to carry out the ⓘ, the stoning that the ⓘ prescribes for ⓘ against the Name.

ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Πολλὰ ἔργα καλὰ ἔδειξα ὑμῖν ἐκ τοῦ πατρός· διὰ ποῖον αὐτῶν ἔργον ἐμὲ λιθάζετε;
Gesù disse loro: 'Vi ho fatto vedere molte opere buone da parte del Padre: per quale di esse volete lapidarmi?'.
Jesus answered them: «Many good works — works of divine goodness and power — I have shown you from the Father: for which work among them do you stone me?»

ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· Περὶ καλοῦ ἔργου οὐ λιθάζομέν σε ἀλλὰ περὶ βλασφημίας, καὶ ὅτι σὺ ἄνθρωπος ὢν ποιεῖς σεαυτὸν θεόν.
Gli risposero i Giudei: 'Non ti lapidiamo per un'opera buona, ma per una bestemmia: perché tu, che sei uomo, ti fai Dio'.
The Judeans answered: «For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy — because you, being a man, make yourself God, arrogating to yourself prerogatives that belong only to the ⓘ.»

ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Οὐκ ἔστιν γεγραμμένον ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὑμῶν ὅτι Ἐγὼ εἶπα· θεοί ἐστε;
Disse loro Gesù: 'Non è forse scritto nella vostra Legge: Io ho detto: voi siete dèi?
Jesus answered: «**ⓘ — with the binding authority of Scripture — I said: you are gods** — ⓘ where the Tetragrammaton says: you are ⓘ?»

εἰ ἐκείνους εἶπεν θεοὺς πρὸς οὓς ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐγένετο, καὶ οὐ δύναται λυθῆναι ἡ γραφή,
Ora, se essa ha chiamato dèi coloro ai quali fu rivolta la parola di Dio - e la Scrittura non può essere annullata -,
If he called them gods — the children of Israel who received **ⓘ** at Sinai, according to rabbinic tradition destined for immortality before the ⓘ — and **ⓘ**,

ὃν ὁ πατὴρ ἡγίασεν καὶ ἀπέστειλεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι Βλασφημεῖς, ὅτι εἶπον· Υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ εἰμι;
a colui che il Padre ha consacrato e mandato nel mondo voi dite: 'Tu bestemmi', perché ho detto: 'Sono Figlio di Dio'?
of him whom **ⓘ — has consecrated and ⓘ with full mandate into the world, do you say: «ⓘ», because I said: «I am the ⓘ**»?

εἰ οὐ ποιῶ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρός μου, μὴ πιστεύετέ μοι·
Se non compio le opere del Padre mio, non credetemi;
If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me:
38
εἰ δὲ ποιῶ, κἂν ἐμοὶ μὴ πιστεύητε, τοῖς ἔργοις πιστεύετε, ἵνα γνῶτε καὶ γινώσκητε ὅτι ἐν ἐμοὶ ὁ πατὴρ κἀγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί.
ma se le compio, anche se non credete a me, credete alle opere, perché sappiate e conosciate che il Padre è in me, e io nel Padre'.
but if I do those works, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that **ⓘ that ⓘ** — the mutual indwelling that manifests the unity of which I have spoken.

Ἐζήτουν οὖν πάλιν αὐτὸν πιάσαι, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν.
Allora cercarono nuovamente di catturarlo, ma egli sfuggì dalle loro mani.
