Greek⸀Ἤκουσεν Ἰησοῦς ὅτι ἐξέβαλον αὐτὸν ἔξω, καὶ εὑρὼν αὐτὸν ⸀εἶπεν· Σὺ πιστεύεις εἰς τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ⸀ἀνθρώπου;
Gnostic TranslationGesù seppe che lo avevano cacciato fuori; quando lo trovò, gli disse: «Tu credi nel Figlio dell'uomo?».
Orthodox ReadingJesus heardⓘ that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said to him: «Do you believeⓘ in the Son of Manⓘ?».

Greekκαὶ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Εἰς κρίμα ἐγὼ εἰς τὸν κόσμον τοῦτον ἦλθον, ἵνα οἱ μὴ βλέποντες βλέπωσιν καὶ οἱ βλέποντες τυφλοὶ γένωνται.
Gnostic TranslationGesù allora disse: «È per un giudizio che io sono venuto in questo mondo, perché coloro che non vedono, vedano e quelli che vedono, diventino ciechi».
Orthodox ReadingAnd Jesus said: «For a judgmentⓘ I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see and those who see may become blindⓘ».

Gnostic TranslationAlcuni dei farisei che erano con lui udirono queste parole e gli dissero: «Siamo ciechi anche noi?».

Greekεἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Εἰ τυφλοὶ ἦτε, οὐκ ἂν εἴχετε ἁμαρτίαν· νῦν δὲ λέγετε ὅτι Βλέπομεν· ⸀ἡ ἁμαρτία ὑμῶν μένει.
Gnostic TranslationGesù rispose loro: «Se foste ciechi, non avreste alcun peccato; ma siccome dite: Noi vediamo, il vostro peccato rimane».
Orthodox ReadingJesus said to them: «If you were blind, you would have no sinⓘ; but now you say: «We seeⓘ»; your sin remainsⓘ».
