Greekκαὶ ἴδε παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτῷ λέγουσιν. μήποτε ἀληθῶς ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄρχοντες ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός;
Orthodox ReadingAnd behold, with authoritative boldnessⓘ he speaks publicly, and they say nothing to him. Have the leaders of the councilⓘ truly recognized that this is the Messiahⓘ?

Greekἀλλὰ τοῦτον οἴδαμεν πόθεν ἐστίν· ὁ δὲ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔρχηται, οὐδεὶς γινώσκει πόθεν ἐστίν.

Greekἔκραξεν οὖν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ διδάσκων ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ λέγων· Κἀμὲ οἴδατε καὶ οἴδατε πόθεν εἰμί· καὶ ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ οὐκ ἐλήλυθα, ἀλλ' ἔστιν ἀληθινὸς ὁ πέμψας με, ὃν ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε·
Orthodox ReadingJesus therefore cried out, teaching in the Templeⓘ and saying: «You know me and you know where I am from; yet I have not come on my own initiativeⓘ, but he who sent me is truthfulⓘ, and you do not know him.
