εἶπον αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· Νῦν ἐγνώκαμεν ὅτι δαιμόνιον ἔχεις. Ἀβραὰμ ἀπέθανεν καὶ οἱ προφῆται, καὶ σὺ λέγεις· Ἐάν τις τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσῃ, οὐ μὴ γεύσηται θανάτου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
Gli dissero i Giudei: 'Ora sappiamo che sei indemoniato. Abramo è morto, come anche i profeti, e tu dici: 'Se uno osserva la mia parola, non vedrà la morte in eterno'.
The Jewsⓘ said to him: «Now we have known that you have a demonⓘ. Avraham died and the prophets died: and you say that if anyone keeps your wordⓘ, he will not taste death foreverⓘ.

μὴ σὺ μείζων εἶ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἀβραάμ, ὅστις ἀπέθανεν; καὶ οἱ προφῆται ἀπέθανον· τίνα σεαυτὸν ποιεῖς;
Sei tu più grande del nostro padre Abramo, che è morto? Anche i profeti sono morti. Chi credi di essere?'.
Are you perhaps greater than our father Avrahamⓘ, who died? And the prophets died. Whom do you make yourselfⓘ, who do you claim to be?»

ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς· Ἐὰν ἐγὼ δοξάσω ἐμαυτόν, ἡ δόξα μου οὐδέν ἐστιν· ἔστιν ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ δοξάζων με, ὃν ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐστιν,
Rispose Gesù: 'Se io glorificassi me stesso, la mia gloria sarebbe nulla. Chi mi glorifica è il Padre mio, del quale voi dite: 'È nostro Dio!',
Jesus answered: «If I glorify myself, my gloryⓘ is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies meⓘ, of whom you say that he is our Godⓘ,

καὶ οὐκ ἐγνώκατε αὐτόν, ἐγὼ δὲ οἶδα αὐτόν. κἂν εἴπω ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα αὐτόν, ἔσομαι ὅμοιος ὑμῖν ψεύστης· ἀλλὰ οἶδα αὐτὸν καὶ τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ τηρῶ.
e non lo conoscete. Io invece lo conosco. Se dicessi che non lo conosco, sarei come voi: un mentitore. Ma io lo conosco e osservo la sua parola.
and you have not known himⓘ: I however know him. And if I say that I do not know him, I shall be like you, a liarⓘ: but I know him and I keep his wordⓘ.

Ἀβραὰμ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ἠγαλλιάσατο ἵνα ἴδῃ τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν ἐμήν, καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἐχάρη.
Abramo, vostro padre, esultò nella speranza di vedere il mio giorno; lo vide e fu pieno di gioia'.
Avraham, your father, exultedⓘ that he might see my dayⓘ, and he saw it and rejoicedⓘ.

εἶπον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς αὐτόν· Πεντήκοντα ἔτη οὔπω ἔχεις καὶ Ἀβραὰμ ἑώρακας;
Allora i Giudei gli dissero: 'Non hai ancora cinquant'anni e hai visto Abramo?'.
The Jewsⓘ then said to him: «You are not yet fifty years oldⓘ, and have you seen Avraham?»

εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἰησοῦς· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, πρὶν Ἀβραὰμ γενέσθαι ἐγὼ εἰμί.
Rispose loro Gesù: 'In verità, in verità io vi dico: prima che Abramo fosse, Io Sono'.
Jesus said to them: «Amen, amenⓘ I say to you: before Avraham was, I Amⓘ».

ἦραν οὖν λίθους ἵνα βάλωσιν ἐπ' αὐτόν. Ἰησοῦς δὲ ἐκρύβη καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ ἱεροῦ.
Allora raccolsero delle pietre per gettarle contro di lui; ma Gesù si nascose e uscì dal tempio.
They took up stones thenⓘ to throw them at himⓘ; but Jesus hid himselfⓘ and went out of the Templeⓘ.
