GreekἈπεκρίνατο οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ δύναται ὁ υἱὸς ποιεῖν ἀφ' ἑαυτοῦ οὐδὲν ἂν μή τι βλέπῃ τὸν πατέρα ποιοῦντα· ἃ γὰρ ἂν ἐκεῖνος ποιῇ, ταῦτα καὶ ὁ υἱὸς ὁμοίως ποιεῖ.
Orthodox ReadingJesus therefore answered and was saying to themⓘ: «Amen, amen, I say to youⓘ: the Son can do nothing of himselfⓘ, except what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, these things the Son also does in the same wayⓘ.

Greekὁ γὰρ πατὴρ φιλεῖ τὸν υἱὸν καὶ πάντα δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ ἃ αὐτὸς ποιεῖ, καὶ μείζονα τούτων δείξει αὐτῷ ἔργα, ἵνα ὑμεῖς θαυμάζητε.
Orthodox ReadingFor the Father loves the Sonⓘ and shows him all that he does, and worksⓘ greater than these he will show him, so that you may marvelⓘ.

Greekὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἐγείρει τοὺς νεκροὺς καὶ ζῳοποιεῖ, οὕτως καὶ ὁ υἱὸς οὓς θέλει ζῳοποιεῖ.
Orthodox ReadingFor just as the Father raises the dead and gives them lifeⓘ, so also the Son gives life to whom he wills.

Greekοὐδὲ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ κρίνει οὐδένα, ἀλλὰ τὴν κρίσιν πᾶσαν δέδωκεν τῷ υἱῷ,
Orthodox ReadingFor the Father judges no one, but has handed over all judgment to the Sonⓘ,

Greekἵνα πάντες τιμῶσιν τὸν υἱὸν καθὼς τιμῶσιν τὸν πατέρα. ὁ μὴ τιμῶν τὸν υἱὸν οὐ τιμᾷ τὸν πατέρα τὸν πέμψαντα αὐτόν.
Orthodox Readingso that all may honor the Son as they honor the Fatherⓘ. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sentⓘ him.

GreekἈμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὁ τὸν λόγον μου ἀκούων καὶ πιστεύων τῷ πέμψαντί με ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον, καὶ εἰς κρίσιν οὐκ ἔρχεται ἀλλὰ μεταβέβηκεν ἐκ τοῦ θανάτου εἰς τὴν ζωήν.
Orthodox ReadingAmen, amen, I say to youⓘ: whoever hears my wordⓘ and believes him who sent me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed overⓘ from death to life.

Greekἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα καὶ νῦν ἐστιν ὅτε οἱ νεκροὶ ἀκούσουσιν τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀκούσαντες ζήσουσιν.
Orthodox ReadingAmen, amen, I say to you: an hour is coming, and is nowⓘ, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Godⓘ and those who have heard it will live.

Greekμὴ θαυμάζετε τοῦτο, ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα ἐν ᾗ πάντες οἱ ἐν τοῖς μνημείοις ἀκούσουσιν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ

Greekκαὶ ἐκπορεύσονται οἱ τὰ ἀγαθὰ ποιήσαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν ζωῆς, οἱ δὲ τὰ φαῦλα πράξαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν κρίσεως.
Orthodox Readingand will come forth: those who did goodⓘ to a resurrection of life, those who did evilⓘ to a resurrection of judgmentⓘ.

GreekΟὐ δύναμαι ἐγὼ ποιεῖν ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ οὐδέν· καθὼς ἀκούω κρίνω, καὶ ἡ κρίσις ἡ ἐμὴ δικαία ἐστίν, ὅτι οὐ ζητῶ τὸ θέλημα τὸ ἐμὸν ἀλλὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πέμψαντός με.
Orthodox ReadingI can do nothing of myself. As I hear, I judgeⓘ, and my judgment is justⓘ, because I do not seek my own will but the will of him who sent meⓘ».
