Ἀπεκρίνατο οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ δύναται ὁ υἱὸς ποιεῖν ἀφ' ἑαυτοῦ οὐδὲν ἂν μή τι βλέπῃ τὸν πατέρα ποιοῦντα· ἃ γὰρ ἂν ἐκεῖνος ποιῇ, ταῦτα καὶ ὁ υἱὸς ὁμοίως ποιεῖ.
Gesù riprese a parlare e disse loro: 'In verità, in verità io vi dico: il Figlio da se stesso non può fare nulla, se non ciò che vede fare dal Padre; quello che egli fa, anche il Figlio lo fa allo stesso modo.
Jesus therefore answered and was saying to themⓘ: «Amen, amen, I say to youⓘ: the Son can do nothing of himselfⓘ, except what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, these things the Son also does in the same wayⓘ.

ὁ γὰρ πατὴρ φιλεῖ τὸν υἱὸν καὶ πάντα δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ ἃ αὐτὸς ποιεῖ, καὶ μείζονα τούτων δείξει αὐτῷ ἔργα, ἵνα ὑμεῖς θαυμάζητε.
Il Padre infatti ama il Figlio, gli manifesta tutto quello che fa e gli manifesterà opere ancora più grandi di queste, perché voi ne siate meravigliati.
For the Father loves the Sonⓘ and shows him all that he does, and worksⓘ greater than these he will show him, so that you may marvelⓘ.

ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἐγείρει τοὺς νεκροὺς καὶ ζῳοποιεῖ, οὕτως καὶ ὁ υἱὸς οὓς θέλει ζῳοποιεῖ.
Come il Padre risuscita i morti e dà la vita, così anche il Figlio dà la vita a chi egli vuole.
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them lifeⓘ, so also the Son gives life to whom he wills.

οὐδὲ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ κρίνει οὐδένα, ἀλλὰ τὴν κρίσιν πᾶσαν δέδωκεν τῷ υἱῷ,
Il Padre infatti non giudica nessuno, ma ha dato ogni giudizio al Figlio,
For the Father judges no one, but has handed over all judgment to the Sonⓘ,

ἵνα πάντες τιμῶσιν τὸν υἱὸν καθὼς τιμῶσιν τὸν πατέρα. ὁ μὴ τιμῶν τὸν υἱὸν οὐ τιμᾷ τὸν πατέρα τὸν πέμψαντα αὐτόν.
perché tutti onorino il Figlio come onorano il Padre. Chi non onora il Figlio, non onora il Padre che lo ha mandato.
so that all may honor the Son as they honor the Fatherⓘ. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sentⓘ him.

Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὁ τὸν λόγον μου ἀκούων καὶ πιστεύων τῷ πέμψαντί με ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον, καὶ εἰς κρίσιν οὐκ ἔρχεται ἀλλὰ μεταβέβηκεν ἐκ τοῦ θανάτου εἰς τὴν ζωήν.
In verità, in verità io vi dico: chi ascolta la mia parola e crede a colui che mi ha mandato, ha la vita eterna e non va incontro al giudizio, ma è passato dalla morte alla vita.
Amen, amen, I say to youⓘ: whoever hears my wordⓘ and believes him who sent me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed overⓘ from death to life.

ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα καὶ νῦν ἐστιν ὅτε οἱ νεκροὶ ἀκούσουσιν τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀκούσαντες ζήσουσιν.
In verità, in verità io vi dico: viene l'ora - ed è questa - in cui i morti udranno la voce del Figlio di Dio e quelli che l'avranno ascoltata, vivranno.
Amen, amen, I say to you: an hour is coming, and is nowⓘ, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Godⓘ and those who have heard it will live.

ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἔχει ζωὴν ἐν ἑαυτῷ, οὕτως καὶ τῷ υἱῷ ἔδωκεν ζωὴν ἔχειν ἐν ἑαυτῷ·
Come infatti il Padre ha la vita in se stesso, così ha concesso anche al Figlio di avere la vita in se stesso,
For just as the Father has life in himselfⓘ, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself.

καὶ ἐξουσίαν ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ κρίσιν ποιεῖν, ὅτι υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ἐστίν.
e gli ha dato il potere di giudicare, perché è Figlio dell'uomo.
And he has given him authorityⓘ to execute judgment, because he is Son of manⓘ.

μὴ θαυμάζετε τοῦτο, ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα ἐν ᾗ πάντες οἱ ἐν τοῖς μνημείοις ἀκούσουσιν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ
Non meravigliatevi di questo: viene l'ora in cui tutti coloro che sono nei sepolcri udranno la sua voce
Do not marvel at this, because an hour is comingⓘ in which all who are in the tombsⓘ will hear his voice

καὶ ἐκπορεύσονται οἱ τὰ ἀγαθὰ ποιήσαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν ζωῆς, οἱ δὲ τὰ φαῦλα πράξαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν κρίσεως.
e usciranno, quanti fecero il bene per una risurrezione di vita e quanti fecero il male per una risurrezione di condanna.
and will come forth: those who did goodⓘ to a resurrection of life, those who did evilⓘ to a resurrection of judgmentⓘ.

Οὐ δύναμαι ἐγὼ ποιεῖν ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ οὐδέν· καθὼς ἀκούω κρίνω, καὶ ἡ κρίσις ἡ ἐμὴ δικαία ἐστίν, ὅτι οὐ ζητῶ τὸ θέλημα τὸ ἐμὸν ἀλλὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πέμψαντός με.
Da me, io non posso fare nulla. Giudico secondo quello che ascolto e il mio giudizio è giusto, perché non cerco la mia volontà, ma la volontà di colui che mi ha mandato.'
I can do nothing of myself. As I hear, I judgeⓘ, and my judgment is justⓘ, because I do not seek my own will but the will of him who sent meⓘ».
