GreekΟὗτός ἐστιν ὁ μαθητὴς ὁ μαρτυρῶν περὶ τούτων καὶ ὁ γράψας ταῦτα, καὶ οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀληθὴς αὐτοῦ ἡ μαρτυρία ἐστίν.
Orthodox ReadingThis is the disciple — the beloved disciple — who bears witness to these things and who wrote them, and we know — we, the community that authenticates this writing — that true is his testimony , his valid and binding testimony.

GreekἜστιν δὲ καὶ ἄλλα πολλὰ ἃ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ἅτινα ἐὰν γράφηται καθ' ἕν, οὐδ' αὐτὸν οἶμαι τὸν κόσμον χωρῆσαι τὰ γραφόμενα βιβλία.
Orthodox ReadingThere are also many other things that Jesus did , which, were they to be written one by one, not even the world itself, I suppose, would contain the books that would be written — according to the rabbinic hyperbole of inexhaustibility , as the masters say that the Torah never allows itself to be contained.
