Ἦλθον οὖν οἱ ὑπηρέται πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ Φαρισαίους, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι· Διὰ τί οὐκ ἠγάγετε αὐτόν;
Le guardie tornarono quindi dai capi dei sacerdoti e dai farisei e questi dissero loro: 'Perché non lo avete condotto qui?'.
The guardsⓘ then came to the archiereîs (the kohanim of the Temple summitⓘ) and the Pharisees (perushim), and these said to them: «Why have you not brought himⓘ?».

ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ ὑπηρέται· Οὐδέποτε ἐλάλησεν οὕτως ἄνθρωπος.
Risposero le guardie: 'Mai un uomo ha parlato così!'.
The guards answered: «Never did a man speak thusⓘ!».

ἀπεκρίθησαν οὖν αὐτοῖς οἱ Φαρισαῖοι· Μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς πεπλάνησθε;
Ma i farisei replicarono loro: 'Vi siete lasciati ingannare anche voi?
Then the Pharisees (perushim), the observant ones, replied to them: «Have you too perhaps let yourselves be deceivedⓘ?

μή τις ἐκ τῶν ἀρχόντων ἐπίστευσεν εἰς αὐτὸν ἢ ἐκ τῶν Φαρισαίων;
Ha forse creduto in lui qualcuno dei capi o dei farisei?
Has any of the rulersⓘ or of the Pharisees perhaps believed in him?

ἀλλὰ ὁ ὄχλος οὗτος ὁ μὴ γινώσκων τὸν νόμον ἐπάρατοί εἰσιν.
Ma questa gente, che non conosce la Legge, è maledetta!'.
But this rabble — the am ha-aretz — who does not know the Torahⓘ, they are accursedⓘ!».

λέγει Νικόδημος πρὸς αὐτούς, ὁ ἐλθὼν πρὸς αὐτὸν τὸ πρότερον, εἷς ὢν ἐξ αὐτῶν·
Allora Nicodèmo, che era andato precedentemente da Gesù, ed era uno di loro, disse:
Nicodemusⓘ says to them, the one who had gone to him previouslyⓘ, himself being one of themⓘ:

Μὴ ὁ νόμος ἡμῶν κρίνει τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσῃ πρῶτον παρ' αὐτοῦ καὶ γνῷ τί ποιεῖ;
'La nostra Legge giudica forse un uomo prima di averlo ascoltato e di sapere ciò che fa?'.
«Does our Torahⓘ perhaps judge a man unless it first hears himⓘ and knows what he does?».

ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· Μὴ καὶ σὺ ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας εἶ; ἐραύνησον καὶ ἴδε ὅτι ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας προφήτης οὐκ ἐγείρεται.
Gli risposero: 'Sei forse anche tu della Galilea? Studia, e vedrai che dalla Galilea non sorge profeta!'.
They answered and said to him: «Are you perhaps also from Galileeⓘ? Searchⓘ and see that from Galilee no prophet arisesⓘ».

Καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.
E ciascuno tornò a casa sua.
And each one went to his own houseⓘ.
