Orthodox ReadingAnd he went away again beyond the Jordanⓘ, to the place where Johnⓘ at first was immersing in the ritual bath (tevilah) the penitentsⓘ, and there he remainedⓘ.

Greekκαὶ πολλοὶ ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἰωάννης μὲν σημεῖον ἐποίησεν οὐδέν, πάντα δὲ ὅσα εἶπεν Ἰωάννης περὶ τούτου ἀληθῆ ἦν.
