Greekνῦν δὲ ὑπάγω πρὸς τὸν πέμψαντά με, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐρωτᾷ με· Ποῦ ὑπάγεις;
Gnostic Translation'Ora però vado da colui che mi ha mandato e nessuno di voi mi domanda: 'Dove vai?'.
Orthodox Reading«But now I am going — I ascend to the Father through glorification — to the one who sentⓘ me, to the Father who sent me as šaliaḥ (the envoy with full mandate): according to the practice of šliḥut, the envoy returns to the sender once the mission is accomplished. Yet none of you asksⓘ me: «Where are you going?»

Greekἀλλ' ὅτι ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἡ λύπη πεπλήρωκεν ὑμῶν τὴν καρδίαν.
Gnostic TranslationAnzi, perché vi ho detto questo, la tristezza ha riempito il vostro cuore.

Greekἀλλ' ἐγὼ τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω ὑμῖν, συμφέρει ὑμῖν ἵνα ἐγὼ ἀπέλθω. ἐὰν γὰρ μὴ ἀπέλθω, ὁ παράκλητος οὐκ ἐλεύσεται πρὸς ὑμᾶς· ἐὰν δὲ πορευθῶ, πέμψω αὐτὸν πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
Gnostic TranslationMa io vi dico la verità: è bene per voi che io me ne vada, perché, se non me ne vado, non verrà a voi il Paràclito; se invece me ne vado, lo manderò a voi.
Orthodox ReadingBut I tell you the truthⓘ: it is to your advantageⓘ that I go awayⓘ; for if I do not go away, the Paracleteⓘ will not come to you; but if I go away, I will sendⓘ him to you.

Greekὅταν δὲ ἔλθῃ ἐκεῖνος, τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας, ὁδηγήσει ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ πάσῃ· οὐ γὰρ λαλήσει ἀφ' ἑαυτοῦ, ἀλλ' ὅσα ἀκούσει λαλήσει, καὶ τὰ ἐρχόμενα ἀναγγελεῖ ὑμῖν.
Gnostic TranslationQuando verrà lui, lo Spirito della verità, vi guiderà a tutta la verità, perché non parlerà da se stesso, ma dirà tutto ciò che avrà udito e vi annuncerà le cose future.
Orthodox ReadingWhen that one comes, the Spirit of truthⓘ, he will guideⓘ you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himselfⓘ, but whatever he hears he will speak, and the things to comeⓘ he will announceⓘ to you.

Gnostic TranslationTutto quello che il Padre possiede è mio; per questo ho detto che prenderà da quel che è mio e ve lo annuncerà.'
