Ἰησοῦς δὲ ἔκραξεν καὶ εἶπεν· Ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ οὐ πιστεύει εἰς ἐμὲ ἀλλὰ εἰς τὸν πέμψαντά με,
Gesù allora esclamò: 'Chi crede in me, non crede in me ma in colui che mi ha mandato;
Jesus cried out with a loud voiceⓘ and said: «Whoever believes in meⓘ does not believe in me but in the one who sent meⓘ receives the one who sent him⟧;

καὶ ὁ θεωρῶν ἐμὲ θεωρεῖ τὸν πέμψαντά με.
chi vede me, vede colui che mi ha mandato.
and whoever sees meⓘ sees the one who sent me.
46
ἐγὼ φῶς εἰς τὸν κόσμον ἐλήλυθα, ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ μὴ μείνῃ.
Io sono venuto nel mondo come luce, perché chiunque crede in me non rimanga nelle tenebre.
I as lightⓘ have come into the worldⓘ, so that whoever believes in me may not remainⓘ in the darknessⓘ.

καὶ ἐάν τίς μου ἀκούσῃ τῶν ῥημάτων καὶ μὴ φυλάξῃ, ἐγὼ οὐ κρίνω αὐτόν· οὐ γὰρ ἦλθον ἵνα κρίνω τὸν κόσμον, ἀλλ' ἵνα σώσω τὸν κόσμον.
Se qualcuno ascolta le mie parole e non le osserva, io non lo condanno; perché non sono venuto per condannare il mondo, ma per salvare il mondo.
And if anyone hears my wordsⓘ and does not keep themⓘ, I do not judgeⓘ him: for I have not come to judgeⓘ the world, but to saveⓘ the world.

ὁ ἀθετῶν ἐμὲ καὶ μὴ λαμβάνων τὰ ῥήματά μου ἔχει τὸν κρίνοντα αὐτόν· ὁ λόγος ὃν ἐλάλησα ἐκεῖνος κρινεῖ αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ.
Chi mi rifiuta e non accoglie le mie parole, ha chi lo condanna: la parola che ho detto lo condannerà nell'ultimo giorno.
Whoever rejects meⓘ and does not receiveⓘ my sayings has one who judges him: the wordⓘ that I have spoken, that will judge him on the last dayⓘ.

ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐξ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐκ ἐλάλησα, ἀλλ' ὁ πέμψας με πατὴρ αὐτός μοι ἐντολὴν δέδωκεν τί εἴπω καὶ τί λαλήσω.
Perché io non ho parlato da me stesso, ma il Padre, che mi ha mandato, mi ha ordinato lui di che cosa parlare e che cosa devo dire.
For I have not spoken from myselfⓘ, but the Father who sent me, he himself has given me a commandⓘ as to what to sayⓘ and what to speak.

καὶ οἶδα ὅτι ἡ ἐντολὴ αὐτοῦ ζωὴ αἰώνιός ἐστιν. ἃ οὖν ἐγὼ λαλῶ, καθὼς εἴρηκέν μοι ὁ πατήρ, οὕτως λαλῶ.
E io so che il suo comandamento è vita eterna. Le cose dunque che io dico, le dico così come il Padre le ha dette a me'.
And I knowⓘ that his commandⓘ is eternal lifeⓘ. The things therefore that I say, as the Father has told them to meⓘ, so I say them.»
