Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς διατάσσων τοῖς δώδεκα μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, μετέβη ἐκεῖθεν τοῦ διδάσκειν καὶ κηρύσσειν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν.
Quando Gesù ebbe terminato di dare queste istruzioni ai suoi dodici discepoli, partì di là per insegnare e predicare nelle loro città.
And it came to pass that, when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciplesⓘ, he departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.

Ὁ δὲ Ἰωάννης ἀκούσας ἐν τῷ δεσμωτηρίῳ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ χριστοῦ πέμψας ⸀διὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ
Giovanni intanto, che era in carcere, avendo sentito parlare delle opere del Cristo, mandò a dirgli per mezzo dei suoi discepoli:
John, in prisonⓘ, having heard of the works of the Messiahⓘ, sent word through his disciplesⓘ

εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἕτερον προσδοκῶμεν;
«Sei tu colui che deve venire o dobbiamo aspettare un altro?».
to say to him: «Are you the one who is to comeⓘ or must we wait for another?».

καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πορευθέντες ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰωάννῃ ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ βλέπετε·
Gesù rispose loro: «Andate e riferite a Giovanni ciò che udite e vedete:
Jesus answered and saidⓘ: «Go and report to John what you hear and seeⓘ:

τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν καὶ χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν, λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται καὶ κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν, ⸀καὶ νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται καὶ πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται·
i ciechi riacquistano la vista, gli zoppi camminano, i lebbrosi sono purificati, i sordi odono, i morti risuscitano, ai poveri è annunciato il Vangelo.
the blind regain their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hearⓘ, the dead are raisedⓘ and to the poor, the anavimⓘ the good news is proclaimedⓘ.

καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ⸀ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί.
E beato è colui che non trova in me motivo di scandalo!».
And blessedⓘ is the one who does not find in me a stumbling blockⓘ».
