Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς γνοὺς ἀνεχώρησεν ἐκεῖθεν. καὶ ἠκολούθησαν ⸀αὐτῷ πολλοί, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς πάντας,
Gesù, saputolo, si allontanò di là. Molti lo seguirono ed egli li guarì tutti,
Jesus, aware of this, withdrewⓘ from there. And many followed him and he healed them allⓘ,

καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ φανερὸν αὐτὸν ποιήσωσιν,
e ordinò loro di non divulgarlo,
and ordered them not to make him knownⓘ,
17
⸀ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος·
perché si adempisse ciò che era stato detto per mezzo del profeta Isaia:
so that might be fulfilledⓘ what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

Ἰδοὺ ὁ παῖς μου ὃν ᾑρέτισα, ὁ ἀγαπητός μου ⸂εἰς ὃν⸃ εὐδόκησεν ἡ ψυχή μου· θήσω τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐπ’ αὐτόν, καὶ κρίσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἀπαγγελεῖ.
«Ecco il mio servo, che io ho scelto; il mio amato, in cui si compiace l'anima mia. Porrò il mio Spirito sopra di lui ed egli annuncerà il diritto alle nazioni.
«Behold my Servantⓘ, whom I have chosenⓘ; my belovedⓘ, in whom my soul delightsⓘ. I will put my Spiritⓘ upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations (goyim)ⓘ.

οὐκ ἐρίσει οὐδὲ κραυγάσει, οὐδὲ ἀκούσει τις ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ.
Non contenderà né griderà, né si udrà sulle piazze la sua voce.
He will not contendⓘ nor cry out, nor will his voice be heard in the streets.

κάλαμον συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεάξει καὶ λίνον τυφόμενον οὐ σβέσει, ἕως ἂν ἐκβάλῃ εἰς νῖκος τὴν κρίσιν.
Non spezzerà una canna incrinata e non spegnerà un lucignolo fumigante, finché non abbia condotto il diritto alla vittoria;
He will not break a bruised reed nor quench a smoldering wickⓘ, until he has brought justice to victoryⓘ;

καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ ἔθνη ἐλπιοῦσιν.
e nel suo nome spereranno le nazioni».
and in his name the nationsⓘ will hopeⓘ».
