GreekἈπὸ τότε ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς δεικνύειν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι δεῖ αὐτὸν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀπελθεῖν καὶ πολλὰ παθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ ἀρχιερέων καὶ γραμματέων καὶ ἀποκτανθῆναι καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἐγερθῆναι.

Orthodox ReadingFrom that moment Jesus began to reveal to his disciples disciplesⓘ that he must — by the necessityⓘ of the divine plan — **go up to Yerushalayimⓘ and suffer many things at the hands of the elders (zeqenim)** eldersⓘ, the chief priests (kohanim of the temple summit) chief priestsⓘ, and the scribes (soferim) scribesⓘ — the three components of the Sanhedrinⓘ — and be put to death, and on the third day be raised on the third day be raisedⓘ.

Greekὁ δὲ στραφεὶς εἶπεν τῷ Πέτρῳ· Ὕπαγε ὀπίσω μου, Σατανᾶ· σκάνδαλον εἶ ἐμοῦ, ὅτι οὐ φρονεῖς τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ ἀλλὰ τὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.
