Ἐλθὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὰ μέρη Καισαρείας τῆς Φιλίππου ἠρώτα τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγων· ⸀Τίνα λέγουσιν οἱ ἄνθρωποι εἶναι τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου;
Essendo giunto Gesù nella regione di Cesarèa di Filippo, domandò ai suoi discepoli: «La gente, chi dice che sia il Figlio dell'uomo?».
When he came to the region of Caesarea Philippiⓘ, Jesus asked his disciples: «Who do peopleⓘ say that the Son of Manⓘ is?».

οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· Οἱ μὲν Ἰωάννην τὸν βαπτιστήν, ἄλλοι δὲ Ἠλίαν, ἕτεροι δὲ Ἰερεμίαν ἢ ἕνα τῶν προφητῶν.
Risposero: «Alcuni Giovanni il Battista, altri Elia, altri ancora Geremia o qualcuno dei profeti».
«Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, others Jeremiah or one of the prophetsⓘ».

λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ὑμεῖς δὲ τίνα με λέγετε εἶναι;
Disse loro: «Ma voi, chi dite che io sia?».
«But you, who do you say that I am?».

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Σίμων Πέτρος εἶπεν· Σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ζῶντος.
Rispose Simon Pietro: «Tu sei il Cristo, il Figlio del Dio vivente».
Simon Peter: «You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Godⓘ».

⸂ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ⸃ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Μακάριος εἶ, Σίμων Βαριωνᾶ, ὅτι σὰρξ καὶ αἷμα οὐκ ἀπεκάλυψέν σοι ἀλλ’ ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς·
E Gesù gli disse: «Beato sei tu, Simone, figlio di Giona, perché né carne né sangue te lo hanno rivelato, ma il Padre mio che è nei cieli.
Jesus: «Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonahⓘ, for neither flesh nor bloodⓘ has revealed it to you, but my heavenly Fatherⓘ.

κἀγὼ δέ σοι λέγω ὅτι σὺ εἶ Πέτρος, καὶ ἐπὶ ταύτῃ τῇ πέτρᾳ οἰκοδομήσω μου τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, καὶ πύλαι ᾅδου οὐ κατισχύσουσιν αὐτῆς·
E io a te dico: tu sei Pietro e su questa pietra edificherò la mia Chiesa e le potenze degli inferi non prevarranno su di essa.
And I say to you: you are Peter, and on this rockⓘ I will build my assemblyⓘ, and the gates of the underworldⓘ will not prevail.

⸀δώσω σοι τὰς ⸀κλεῖδας τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν, καὶ ὃ ⸀ἐὰν δήσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται δεδεμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς, καὶ ὃ ⸁ἐὰν λύσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται λελυμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
A te darò le chiavi del regno dei cieli: tutto ciò che legherai sulla terra sarà legato nei cieli, e tutto ciò che scioglierai sulla terra sarà sciolto nei cieli».
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heavenⓘ, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, whatever you loose will be loosedⓘ».

τότε ⸀διεστείλατο τοῖς ⸀μαθηταῖς ἵνα μηδενὶ εἴπωσιν ὅτι αὐτός ⸀ἐστιν ὁ χριστός.
Allora ordinò ai discepoli di non dire ad alcuno che egli era il Cristo.
Then he orderedⓘ them to tell no one that he was the Messiahⓘ.
