Καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ Φαρισαῖοι πειράζοντες αὐτὸν καὶ λέγοντες· Εἰ ἔξεστιν ἀνθρώπῳ ἀπολῦσαι τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ κατὰ πᾶσαν αἰτίαν;
Allora gli si avvicinarono alcuni farisei per metterlo alla prova e gli chiesero: "È lecito a un uomo ripudiare la propria moglie per qualsiasi motivo?".
And the Pharisees (perushim) approached him, the observant ones perushimⓘ, to test himⓘ, and they said to him: «Is it lawfulⓘ for a man to repudiate his own wife for any causeⓘ?».

ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· Οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ὅτι ὁ κτίσας ἀπ' ἀρχῆς ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν αὐτούς;
Egli rispose: "Non avete letto che il Creatore da principio li fece maschio e femmina
And he, answering, said to them: «Have you not readⓘ that He who created from the beginningⓘ made them male and femaleⓘ?».

καὶ εἶπεν· Ἕνεκα τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ κολληθήσεται τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν.
e disse: Per questo l'uomo lascerà il padre e la madre e si unirà a sua moglie e i due diventeranno una sola carne?
«And he said: For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall be joined to his womanⓘ, and the two shall become one fleshⓘ».

ὥστε οὐκέτι εἰσὶν δύο ἀλλὰ σὰρξ μία. ὃ οὖν ὁ θεὸς συνέζευξεν ἄνθρωπος μὴ χωριζέτω.
Così non sono più due, ma una sola carne. Dunque l'uomo non divida quello che Dio ha congiunto".
«So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has yoked togetherⓘ, let not man separateⓘ».

λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Τί οὖν Μωϋσῆς ἐνετείλατο δοῦναι βιβλίον ἀποστασίου καὶ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν;
Gli domandarono: "Perché allora Mosè ha ordinato di darle l'atto di ripudio e di ripudiarla?".
They say to him: «Why then did Mosheh command to give the get, the act of repudiationⓘ and to send her away?».

λέγει αὐτοῖς ὅτι Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἐπέτρεψεν ὑμῖν ἀπολῦσαι τὰς γυναῖκας ὑμῶν, ἀπ' ἀρχῆς δὲ οὐ γέγονεν οὕτως.
Rispose loro: "Per la durezza del vostro cuore Mosè vi ha permesso di ripudiare le vostre mogli; all'inizio però non fu così.
He says to them: «Mosheh, in the face of the hardness of your heartⓘ, permittedⓘ you to repudiate your wives: but from the beginning it was not soⓘ.

λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι ὃς ἂν ἀπολύσῃ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐπὶ πορνείᾳ καὶ γαμήσῃ ἄλλην μοιχᾶται.
Ma io vi dico: chiunque ripudia la propria moglie, se non in caso di unione illegittima, e ne sposa un'altra, commette adulterio".
Now I say to you that whoever repudiates his own wife, if not for sexual immoralityⓘ, and marries another, commits adulteryⓘ».
