21
You have heard that it was saidⓘ to the ancientsⓘ: You shall not kill (Ex 20:13; Deut 5:17), the sixth word of the Ten Words; whoever has killed shall be subject to the judgmentⓘ.
22
But I say to you that whoever grows angryⓘ with his own brother shall be subject to the judgment; and whoever says to his own brother: Raqàⓘ, shall be called to answer before the Sanhedrin (the Sanhedrinⓘ); and whoever says: Foolⓘ, shall be liable to the Gehenna of fire (the Ghe-Hinnomⓘ).
23
If therefore you bring your offering (the korbanⓘ) to the altarⓘ and there you remember that your brother holds a grudge against you,
24
leave your offering there before the altar and goⓘ, first be reconciled (restore the shalomⓘ) with your brother, and then, having returned, present your offering. This is the order: that which is between man and his fellowⓘ precedes that which is between man and the Placeⓘ.
25
Be well-disposedⓘ toward your adversary at lawⓘ promptly, while you are still with him along the roadⓘ, lest the adversary hand you over to the judgeⓘ, and the judge to the servant of the courtⓘ, and you be thrown into prison.
26
Truly I say to you: you will not come out of there until you have paid back the very last quadransⓘ.
