Greekμακάριοι οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι, οὓς ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος εὑρήσει γρηγοροῦντας· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι περιζώσεται καὶ ἀνακλινεῖ αὐτοὺς καὶ παρελθὼν διακονήσει αὐτοῖς.
Orthodox ReadingBlessed , happy are those servants whom the master at his coming will find watching , alert and ready; Amèn, I tell you that he himself will gird himself as a servant, will have them recline at table as guests and, passing among them, will serve them personally.

Greekκἂν ἐν τῇ δευτέρᾳ κἂν ἐν τῇ τρίτῃ φυλακῇ ἔλθῃ καὶ εὕρῃ οὕτως, μακάριοί εἰσιν ἐκεῖνοι.
Orthodox ReadingAnd whether he comes in the second watch of the night, or arrives in the third, if he finds them thus ready, blessed are those servants.

Greekτοῦτο δὲ γινώσκετε ὅτι εἰ ᾔδει ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης ποίᾳ ὥρᾳ ὁ κλέπτης ἔρχεται, οὐκ ἂν ἀφῆκεν διορυχθῆναι τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.
Orthodox ReadingKnow this, then, and understand: if the master of the house had known at what hour of the night the thief comes, he would have kept watch and not let them break into the house.

Greekκαὶ ὑμεῖς γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι, ὅτι ᾗ ὥρᾳ οὐ δοκεῖτε ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔρχεται.
Orthodox ReadingSo you too be ready and vigilant at every moment, for in the hour you do not expect it, when you least think of it, the Son of man — the Messiah — comes.
