Ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδοὺ ὄχλος, καὶ ὁ λεγόμενος Ἰούδας εἷς τῶν δώδεκα προήρχετο αὐτούς καὶ ἤγγισεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ φιλῆσαι αὐτόν.
Mentre ancora egli parlava, ecco giungere una folla; colui che si chiamava Giuda, uno dei Dodici, li precedeva e si avvicinò a Gesù per baciarlo.
While he was still speaking, beholdⓘ a crowdⓘ arrived, and the one called Judasⓘ, one of the Twelve, was going ahead ofⓘ them, and he drew near to Jesus to kiss himⓘ.

Ἰησοῦς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἰούδα, φιλήματι τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδως;
Gesù gli disse: «Giuda, con un bacio tu tradisci il Figlio dell'uomo?».
But Jesus said to him: «Judas, with a kiss do you betray the Son of manⓘ?».

ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ περὶ αὐτὸν τὸ ἐσόμενον εἶπαν· Κύριε, εἰ πατάξομεν ἐν μαχαίρῃ;
Allora quelli che erano con lui, vedendo ciò che stava per accadere, dissero: «Signore, dobbiamo colpire con la spada?».
And those who were around him, seeing what was about to happen, said: «Lordⓘ, shall we strike with the swordⓘ?».

καὶ ἐπάταξεν εἷς τις ἐξ αὐτῶν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τὸν δοῦλον καὶ ἀφεῖλεν τὸ οὖς αὐτοῦ τὸ δεξιόν.
E uno di loro colpì il servo del sommo sacerdote e gli staccò l'orecchio destro.
And one of them struck the servantⓘ of the high priest of the kohanimⓘ and cut off his right earⓘ.

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ἐᾶτε ἕως τούτου. καὶ ἁψάμενος τοῦ ὠτίου ἰάσατο αὐτόν.
Ma Gesù intervenne dicendo: «Lasciate! Basta così!». E, toccandogli l'orecchio, lo guarì.
But Jesus, answeringⓘ, said: «Permit it, up to this point!». And, having touched the ear, he healedⓘ him.

εἶπεν δὲ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς τοὺς παραγενομένους ἐπ' αὐτὸν ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ πρεσβυτέρους· Ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων;
Poi Gesù disse a coloro che erano venuti contro di lui, capi dei sacerdoti, capi delle guardie del tempio e anziani: «Come se fossi un ladro siete venuti con spade e bastoni.
Then Jesus said to the archiereîs (the kohanim of the Temple apexⓘ), to the commanders of the guards of the Templeⓘ and to the elders (the zeqenimⓘ) who had come against him: «As against an armed rebel (a biryōnⓘ) have you come out with swordsⓘ and clubs?

καθ' ἡμέραν ὄντος μου μεθ' ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ οὐκ ἐξετείνατε τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ' ἐμέ, ἀλλ' αὕτη ἐστὶν ὑμῶν ἡ ὥρα καὶ ἡ ἐξουσία τοῦ σκότους.
Ogni giorno ero con voi nel tempio e non avete mai messo le mani su di me; ma questa è l'ora vostra e il potere delle tenebre».
Day after day I was with you in the Temple and you did not lay your handsⓘ on me; but this is your hour and the power of darknessⓘ».
