Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων, μή τινος ὑστερήσατε; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· Οὐθενός.

Poi disse loro: «Quando vi ho mandato senza borsa, né sacca, né sandali, vi è forse mancato qualcosa?». Risposero: «Nulla».

And he said to them: «When I sent youⓘ without purseⓘ, nor bagⓘ, nor sandalsⓘ, did you lack anything?». And they said: «Nothing».

εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ἀλλὰ νῦν ὁ ἔχων βαλλάντιον ἀράτω, ὁμοίως καὶ πήραν, καὶ ὁ μὴ ἔχων πωλησάτω τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀγορασάτω μάχαιραν.

Ed egli soggiunse: «Ma ora, chi ha una borsa la prenda, e così chi ha una sacca; chi non ha spada, venda il mantello e ne compri una.

Then he said to them: «But now, let the one who has a purse take it, and likewise the bag; and let the one who has no sword (ḥerev) swordⓘ sell his cloakⓘ and buy one.

λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι τοῦτο τὸ γεγραμμένον δεῖ τελεσθῆναι ἐν ἐμοί, τὸ Καὶ μετὰ ἀνόμων ἐλογίσθη· καὶ γὰρ τὸ περὶ ἐμοῦ τέλος ἔχει.

Perché io vi dico: deve compiersi in me questa parola della Scrittura: E fu annoverato tra gli empi. Infatti tutto quello che mi riguarda volge al suo compimento».

For I tell you that in me it is written it is writtenⓘ this must reach fulfillment: *And he was counted* he was countedⓘ *among the Torah-lessⓘ*; for what concerns me is moving toward its fulfillmentⓘ».

οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· Κύριε, ἰδοὺ μάχαιραι ὧδε δύο. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἱκανόν ἐστιν.

Ed essi dissero: «Signore, ecco qui due spade». Ma egli disse: «Basta!».

And they said: «Lord Lordⓘ, behold here two swords (ḥerev) two swordsⓘ understand literally what was said of the hour of trial⟧». And he said to them: «Enough of this Enough of thisⓘ⟧».
