1
All the tax collectorsⓘ and the sinnersⓘ were continually drawing near to him, to listen to himⓘ.
2
And both the Pharisees (the perushim, the observant ones set apart for purity) and the scribes (the soferim, the learned in the Torah) were murmuring among themselves, saying: «This man welcomesⓘ sinnersⓘ and eats with themⓘ».
3
Ed egli disse loro questa parabola:
Then he spoke to them this parableⓘ, saying:
4
Τίς ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ὑμῶν ἔχων ἑκατὸν πρόβατα καὶ ἀπολέσας ἐξ αὐτῶν ἓν οὐ καταλείπει τὰ ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τὸ ἀπολωλὸς ἕως εὕρῃ αὐτό;
«What manⓘ among you, having a hundred sheepⓘ and having lost one of themⓘ, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wildernessⓘ and go after the lost oneⓘ until he finds it?
5
And having found it, he places it on his shouldersⓘ rejoicingⓘ,
6
and having come home he calls togetherⓘ his friends and neighbors, saying to them: Rejoice with meⓘ, for I have found my sheep, the one that was lost.
7
I tell youⓘ that in the same way there will be joy in heavenⓘ over one single sinner who repentsⓘ, more than over ninety-nine righteous onesⓘ who have no need of repentanceⓘ».
