Παραλαβὼν δὲ τοὺς δώδεκα εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Ἰδοὺ ἀναβαίνομεν εἰς ⸀Ἰερουσαλήμ, καὶ τελεσθήσεται πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα διὰ τῶν προφητῶν τῷ υἱῷ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου·
Poi prese con sé i Dodici e disse loro: «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme, e si compirà tutto ciò che fu scritto dai profeti riguardo al Figlio dell'uomo:
Taking with himⓘ the Twelveⓘ, he said to them: «Beholdⓘ, we are going upⓘ to Jerusalemⓘ, and all that is written through the prophetsⓘ will be brought to fulfilmentⓘ concerning the Son of Manⓘ:

παραδοθήσεται γὰρ τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ ἐμπαιχθήσεται καὶ ὑβρισθήσεται καὶ ἐμπτυσθήσεται,
verrà infatti consegnato ai pagani, deriso, insultato, coperto di sputi
for he will be handed over to the gentilesⓘ, mockedⓘ, insultedⓘ and covered with spittleⓘ;

καὶ μαστιγώσαντες ἀποκτενοῦσιν αὐτόν, καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ ἀναστήσεται.
e, dopo averlo flagellato, lo uccideranno, ma il terzo giorno risorgerà».
and after scourging himⓘ they will kill himⓘ, and on the third day he will riseⓘ».

καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐδὲν τούτων συνῆκαν, καὶ ἦν τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο κεκρυμμένον ἀπ’ αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐκ ἐγίνωσκον τὰ λεγόμενα.
Ma quelli non compresero nulla di tutto questo; quel parlare restava oscuro per loro e non capivano ciò che egli aveva detto.
But theyⓘ understood none of thisⓘ, and this word remained hidden from themⓘ, and they did not knowⓘ what was being said.
