Καλὸν οὖν τὸ ἅλας· ἐὰν δὲ καὶ τὸ ἅλας μωρανθῇ, ἐν τίνι ἀρτυθήσεται;
Buona cosa è il sale, ma se anche il sale perde il sapore, con che cosa verrà salato?
A good thing A good thingⓘ, thereforeⓘ, is salt saltⓘ; but if evenⓘ the salt were made tasteless made tastelessⓘ, with what will it be salted again will it be salted againⓘ?

οὔτε εἰς γῆν οὔτε εἰς κοπρίαν εὔθετόν ἐστιν, ἔξω βάλλουσιν αὐτό. Ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω.
Non serve né per la terra né per il concime e così lo buttano via. Chi ha orecchi per ascoltare, ascolti».
