GreekΠαρῆσαν δέ τινες ἐν αὐτῷ τῷ καιρῷ ἀπαγγέλλοντες αὐτῷ περὶ τῶν Γαλιλαίων ὧν τὸ αἷμα Πιλᾶτος ἔμιξεν μετὰ τῶν θυσιῶν αὐτῶν.
Orthodox ReadingThere were present, at that very moment, some who reported to him about the Galileans Galileansⓘ, whose blood Pilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices sacrificesⓘ — a sacrilege of the Roman prefect, not a guilt of the victims.

Greekκαὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Δοκεῖτε ὅτι οἱ Γαλιλαῖοι οὗτοι ἁμαρτωλοὶ παρὰ πάντας τοὺς Γαλιλαίους ἐγένοντο, ὅτι ταῦτα πεπόνθασιν;
Orthodox ReadingAnd he answered and said to them: «Do you think that these Galileans were sinners sinnersⓘ more than all the Galileans, because they suffered these things?

Greekοὐχί, λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀλλ' ἐὰν μὴ μετανοῆτε πάντες ὁμοίως ἀπολεῖσθε.
Orthodox ReadingNo, I tell you; but unless you do teshuvah teshuvahⓘ, returning to YHWH, you will all perish in the same way.

Greekἢ ἐκεῖνοι οἱ δεκαοκτὼ ἐφ' οὓς ἔπεσεν ὁ πύργος ἐν τῷ Σιλωὰμ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτούς, δοκεῖτε ὅτι αὐτοὶ ὀφειλέται ἐγένοντο παρὰ πάντας τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ἰερουσαλήμ;
Orthodox ReadingOr those eighteen upon whom the tower of Siloam Siloamⓘ fell and killed them, do you think that they were debtors debtorsⓘ more than all the men menⓘ who dwell in Jerusalem Jerusalemⓘ?
