Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐνέβη εἰς πλοῖον καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Διέλθωμεν εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς λίμνης, καὶ ἀνήχθησαν.
E avvenne che, uno di quei giorni, Gesù salì su una barca con i suoi discepoli e disse loro: «Passiamo all'altra riva del lago». E presero il largo.
And it came to pass, on one of those days, that he got into a boatⓘ together with his disciplesⓘ, and he said to them: «Let us cross over to the other shore of the lakeⓘ»; and they put out.

πλεόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἀφύπνωσεν. καὶ κατέβη λαῖλαψ ἀνέμου εἰς τὴν λίμνην καὶ συνεπληροῦντο καὶ ἐκινδύνευον.
Ora, mentre navigavano, egli si addormentò. Una tempesta di vento si abbatté sul lago, imbarcavano acqua ed erano in pericolo.
As they were sailing, he fell asleep he fell asleepⓘ. And a squall of wind squallⓘ came down on the lake, and they were taking on water and were in danger.

προσελθόντες δὲ διήγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Ἐπιστάτα ἐπιστάτα, ἀπολλύμεθα. ὁ δὲ διεγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τῷ ἀνέμῳ καὶ τῷ κλύδωνι τοῦ ὕδατος· καὶ ἐπαύσαντο καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη.
Si accostarono a lui e lo svegliarono dicendo: «Maestro, maestro, siamo perduti!». Ed egli, destatosi, minacciò il vento e le acque in tempesta: si placarono e ci fu bonaccia.
Coming to him, they woke him, crying out: «Master, Master Masterⓘ, we are perishing we are perishingⓘ!». And he, awakened, rebuked rebukedⓘ the wind and the surging swell of the water; and they ceased, and there came a calm calmⓘ.

εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ποῦ ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν; φοβηθέντες δὲ ἐθαύμασαν λέγοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους· Τίς ἄρα οὗτός ἐστιν ὅτι καὶ τοῖς ἀνέμοις ἐπιτάσσει καὶ τῷ ὕδατι, καὶ ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῷ;
Allora disse loro: «Dov'è la vostra fede?». Essi, impauriti e stupiti, dicevano l'un l'altro: «Chi è dunque costui, che comanda anche ai venti e all'acqua, e gli obbediscono?».
Then he said to them: «Where is your faith faithⓘ?». And they, afraid afraidⓘ, said to one another: «Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the waterⓘ, and they obey him?».
