GreekἘγένετο δὲ ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐνέβη εἰς πλοῖον καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Διέλθωμεν εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς λίμνης, καὶ ἀνήχθησαν.
Orthodox ReadingAnd it came to pass, on one of those days, that he got into a boatⓘ together with his disciplesⓘ, and he said to them: «Let us cross over to the other shore of the lakeⓘ»; and they put out.

Greekπλεόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἀφύπνωσεν. καὶ κατέβη λαῖλαψ ἀνέμου εἰς τὴν λίμνην καὶ συνεπληροῦντο καὶ ἐκινδύνευον.

Greekπροσελθόντες δὲ διήγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Ἐπιστάτα ἐπιστάτα, ἀπολλύμεθα. ὁ δὲ διεγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τῷ ἀνέμῳ καὶ τῷ κλύδωνι τοῦ ὕδατος· καὶ ἐπαύσαντο καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη.
Orthodox ReadingComing to him, they woke him, crying out: «Master, Master Masterⓘ, we are perishing we are perishingⓘ!». And he, awakened, rebuked rebukedⓘ the wind and the surging swell of the water; and they ceased, and there came a calm calmⓘ.
