GreekΠαρῆσαν δέ τινες ἐν αὐτῷ τῷ καιρῷ ἀπαγγέλλοντες αὐτῷ περὶ τῶν Γαλιλαίων ὧν τὸ αἷμα Πιλᾶτος ἔμιξεν μετὰ τῶν θυσιῶν αὐτῶν.
Orthodox ReadingAt that time some came to report to him about those Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with that of their sacrificesⓘ.

Greekκαὶ ⸀ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Δοκεῖτε ὅτι οἱ Γαλιλαῖοι οὗτοι ἁμαρτωλοὶ παρὰ πάντας τοὺς Γαλιλαίους ἐγένοντο, ὅτι ⸀ταῦτα πεπόνθασιν;
Orthodox ReadingJesus said: «Do you think that those Galileans were greater sinners than all the Galileansⓘ, for having suffered such a fate?

Greekοὐχί, λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀλλ’ ἐὰν μὴ μετανοῆτε πάντες ⸀ὁμοίως ἀπολεῖσθε.
Orthodox ReadingNo, I tell youⓘ, but unless you repentⓘ, you will all perish in the same wayⓘ.

Greekἢ ἐκεῖνοι οἱ ⸀δεκαοκτὼ ἐφ’ οὓς ἔπεσεν ὁ πύργος ἐν τῷ Σιλωὰμ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτούς, δοκεῖτε ὅτι ⸀αὐτοὶ ὀφειλέται ἐγένοντο παρὰ πάντας ⸀τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τοὺς ⸀κατοικοῦντας Ἰερουσαλήμ;
Orthodox ReadingOr those eighteenⓘ on whom the tower of Siloamⓘ fell, do you think they were more guiltyⓘ than all the inhabitants of Jerusalemⓘ?

Greekοὐχί, λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀλλ’ ἐὰν μὴ ⸀μετανοῆτε πάντες ⸀ὡσαύτως ἀπολεῖσθε.

GreekἜλεγεν δὲ ταύτην τὴν παραβολήν. Συκῆν εἶχέν τις ⸂πεφυτευμένην ἐν τῷ ἀμπελῶνι αὐτοῦ⸃, καὶ ἦλθεν ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ οὐχ εὗρεν.
Orthodox ReadingHe also told this parableⓘ: «A certain man had planted a fig tree in his vineyardⓘ and came looking for fruit on it, but found none.

Greekεἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὸν ἀμπελουργόν· Ἰδοὺ τρία ἔτη ⸂ἀφ’ οὗ⸃ ἔρχομαι ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν τῇ συκῇ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκω· ⸀ἔκκοψον αὐτήν· ἱνατί καὶ τὴν γῆν καταργεῖ;
Orthodox ReadingHe said to the vinedresserⓘ: For three yearsⓘ I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it downⓘ! Why should it use up the soil?

Greekὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἄφες αὐτὴν καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ἔτος, ἕως ὅτου σκάψω περὶ αὐτὴν καὶ βάλω κόπρια·
Orthodox ReadingBut he answered: Master, leave it one more yearⓘ, until I have dug around it and put on manureⓘ.

Greekκἂν μὲν ποιήσῃ καρπὸν ⸂εἰς τὸ μέλλον— εἰ δὲ μήγε,⸃ ἐκκόψεις αὐτήν.
