Ἐπερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν· Οὐκ ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως,
I farisei gli domandarono: «Quando verrà il regno di Dio?». Egli rispose loro: «Il regno di Dio non viene in modo da attirare l'attenzione,
Questioned by the Pharisees (perushim), the observant : «When does the Kingdom of God (Malkhut Elohim) come?», he answered them and said: «The Kingdom of God does not come with observation — not with astronomical calculation nor with the apocalyptic signs that claim to fix the messianic time, that practice of reckoning the *qetz* which the masters of Israel will condemn as presumption;

οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν· Ἰδοὺ ὧδε ἤ· Ἐκεῖ, ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν.
e nessuno dirà: 'Eccolo qui', oppure: 'Eccolo là'. Perché, ecco, il regno di Dio è in mezzo a voi!».
nor will they say: «Behold, here» or «There», pointing to precise places or moments: for behold, the Kingdom of God is in your midst, already present in my person and in my messianic work, accessible and operative wherever the will of YHWH is fulfilled — just as the sovereignty of the heavens (*malkhut shamayim*) is realized in the very act of taking up the yoke of the commandments, in the *Shema'* recited every day.»
