Θέσθε ὑμεῖς εἰς τὰ ὦτα ὑμῶν τοὺς λόγους τούτους, ὁ γὰρ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου μέλλει παραδίδοσθαι εἰς χεῖρας ἀνθρώπων.
«Mettetevi bene in mente queste parole: il Figlio dell'uomo sta per essere consegnato nelle mani degli uomini».
«Put you into your earsⓘ these words: the Son of Manⓘ is about to be delivered overⓘ into the hands of menⓘ».

οἱ δὲ ἠγνόουν τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο, καὶ ἦν παρακεκαλυμμένον ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἵνα μὴ αἴσθωνται αὐτό, καὶ ἐφοβοῦντο ἐρωτῆσαι αὐτὸν περὶ τοῦ ῥήματος τούτου.
Essi però non capivano queste parole: restavano per loro così misteriose che non ne coglievano il senso, e avevano paura di interrogarlo su quanto aveva detto.
But they did not understand this wordⓘ, and it was veiled from themⓘ, so that they might not grasp its meaningⓘ, and they were afraid to question himⓘ concerning this word of suffering.
