Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ· Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν· μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ τί φάγητε, μηδὲ τῷ σώματι τί ἐνδύσησθε.
Poi disse ai suoi discepoli: «Per questo io vi dico: non preoccupatevi per la vita, di quello che mangerete; né per il corpo, di quello che indosserete.
Then he said to his disciples disciplesⓘ: «For this reason I tell you: do not be in anxious turmoil anxiousⓘ about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will wear.

ἡ γὰρ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος.
La vita infatti vale più del cibo e il corpo più del vestito.
For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.

κατανοήσατε τοὺς κόρακας ὅτι οὐ σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ θερίζουσιν, οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ταμεῖον οὐδὲ ἀποθήκη, καὶ ὁ θεὸς τρέφει αὐτούς· πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμεῖς διαφέρετε τῶν πετεινῶν.
Guardate i corvi: non seminano e non mietono, non hanno dispensa né granaio, eppure Dio li nutre. Quanto più degli uccelli valete voi!
Consider the ravens ravensⓘ: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. How much more are you worth than the birds!

τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ προσθεῖναι πῆχυν;
Chi di voi, per quanto si preoccupi, può allungare anche di poco la propria vita?
And who of you, being anxious, can add a single measure to the span of his life?

εἰ οὖν οὐδὲ ἐλάχιστον δύνασθε, τί περὶ τῶν λοιπῶν μεριμνᾶτε;
Se non potete fare neppure così poco, perché vi preoccupate per il resto?
If then you cannot do even the smallest thing, why are you anxious about the rest?

κατανοήσατε τὰ κρίνα πῶς αὐξάνει· οὐ κοπιᾷ οὐδὲ νήθει· λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν, οὐδὲ Σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων.
Guardate come crescono i gigli: non faticano e non filano. Eppure io vi dico: neanche Salomone, con tutta la sua gloria, vestiva come uno di loro.
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, not even Solomon Solomonⓘ, in all his glory gloryⓘ, was clothed like one of these.

εἰ δὲ ἐν ἀγρῷ τὸν χόρτον ὄντα σήμερον καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέζει, πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς, ὀλιγόπιστοι.
Se dunque Dio veste così bene l'erba nel campo, che oggi c'è e domani si getta nel forno, quanto più farà per voi, gente di poca fede.
If then the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven ovenⓘ, God so clothes, how much more you, you of little faith of little faithⓘ!

καὶ ὑμεῖς μὴ ζητεῖτε τί φάγητε καὶ τί πίητε καὶ μὴ μετεωρίζεσθε·
E voi, non state a domandarvi che cosa mangerete e berrete, e non state in ansia:
And do not anxiously seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not be unsettled in uncertainty unsettledⓘ;

ταῦτα γὰρ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τοῦ κόσμου ἐπιζητοῦσιν· ὑμῶν δὲ ὁ πατὴρ οἶδεν ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων.
di tutte queste cose vanno in cerca i pagani di questo mondo; ma il Padre vostro sa che ne avete bisogno.
for all these things the peoples of the world the peoplesⓘ pursue with anxiety; but your Father the Fatherⓘ knows that you need these things.

πλὴν ζητεῖτε τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ταῦτα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν.
Cercate piuttosto il suo regno, e queste cose vi saranno date in aggiunta.
Seek rather his Kingdom Kingdomⓘ, and these things will be added to you addedⓘ.

Μὴ φοβοῦ, τὸ μικρὸν ποίμνιον, ὅτι εὐδόκησεν ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν δοῦναι ὑμῖν τὴν βασιλείαν.
Non temere, piccolo gregge, perché al Padre vostro è piaciuto dare a voi il Regno.
Fear not, little flock flockⓘ, for it has pleased was pleasedⓘ your Father to give you the Kingdom.»
