While a great crowd was gathering of am ha-aretzⓘ, and people from every town were coming to him, he spoke by way of mashalⓘ:
5
«The sowerⓘ went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the pathⓘ and was trampled, and the birds of the skyⓘ devoured it.
6
And another fell on the rockⓘ, and, though it sprouted, it withered because it had no moistureⓘ.
7
And another fell among the thornsⓘ, and the thorns, having grown up with it, choked it.
8
And another fell into the good soilⓘ, and, having sprouted, it produced fruit a hundredfoldⓘ». As he said these things he cried outⓘ: «Whoever has earsⓘ to hear, let him hear — whoever can perform the shemaʿⓘ, let him truly listen».
