Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν ἐν τόπῳ τινὶ προσευχόμενον, ὡς ἐπαύσατο, εἶπέν τις τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτόν· Κύριε, δίδαξον ἡμᾶς προσεύχεσθαι, καθὼς καὶ Ἰωάννης ἐδίδαξεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ.
Gesù si trovava in un luogo a pregare; quando ebbe finito, uno dei suoi discepoli gli disse: «Signore, insegnaci a pregare, come anche Giovanni ha insegnato ai suoi discepoli».
And it came to passⓘ, while he was in a certain place absorbed in prayerⓘ, when he had finished one of his disciplesⓘ said to him: «Lordⓘ, teach us to prayⓘ, just as Johnⓘ also taught his disciples».

εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ὅταν προσεύχησθε λέγετε· Πάτερ, ἁγιασθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου· ἐλθέτω ἡ βασιλεία σου·
Ed egli disse loro: «Quando pregate, dite: Padre, sia santificato il tuo nome, venga il tuo regno;
He said to them: «When you prayⓘ, say: Fatherⓘ, hallowed be your Nameⓘ; may your Kingdomⓘ come;

τὸν ἄρτον ἡμῶν τὸν ἐπιούσιον δίδου ἡμῖν τὸ καθ' ἡμέραν·
dacci ogni giorno il nostro pane quotidiano,
our essential breadⓘ keep giving us day by dayⓘ;

καὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν, καὶ γὰρ αὐτοὶ ἀφίομεν παντὶ ὀφείλοντι ἡμῖν· καὶ μὴ εἰσενέγκῃς ἡμᾶς εἰς πειρασμόν.
e perdona a noi i nostri peccati, anche noi infatti perdoniamo a ogni nostro debitore, e non abbandonarci alla tentazione».
and forgive us our sinsⓘ, for we ourselves also are forgivingⓘ everyone who is our debtorⓘ; and do not lead us into the trialⓘ».
